Strange, but true. Google, IBM and Goldman Sachs have all invested heavily in US companies which promise to make broadband internet connections possible through electricity sockets. Wanadoo has doubled the speed of its broadband offerings to 2Mb, which is well short of the 8Mb promised by BT and the blistering 24MB speeds promised by new ISP ‘Be’ (both for this Autumn), but nonetheless brings it into line (or better) with the majority of offerings out there already.
