It seems that the long-running takeover of Telewest by NTL will finally go ahead this summer - according to a report in The Independent on Sunday. Both cable companies cover different regions for their broadband, TV and telephone services, so - as a combined entity - they should be able to offer up more competition to BT and Sky.
