Well, I keep hearing about it although never quite seeing it. So the question over when this will happen is only secretly known to Chad Raube and Jon Hurry as the secret brains behind the broadband changes. Blueyonder is upgrading its network to enable the following changes for free:
- 512k broadband becomes 2Mb (4x faster than normal) and the upstream is doubled to 256k (for sending emails and photos). It doesn’t seem to apply to their current £9.99 offer though confusingly!
- broadband complete 1Mb jumps to 4Mb with the upstream increasing from 128k to 384k!
- broadband elite 2Mb and 4Mb become a staggering 10Mb and again get an upstream increase to 384k

Bottom line is that you get some nice speed increases here with no change in price - all of which can’t be bad. Saying that, blueyonder prices have always been pretty high in the first place so you’re finally getting value.
It seems that you can indeed have your cake and eat, else what would be the point of having the cake in the first place!
