I’ve been thinking about these tonight and somewhat pontificating over whether bandwidth caps are a good or bad idea in the broadband world.
On the plus side, it allows a provider to offer a much cheaper price by restricting the total bandwidth (amount of data) you can send or receive. This is good if you don’t download much music, video, or browse a lot of sites.
On the negative side, people don’t really understand how much bandwidth they are using as it is a very techy term. It just sounds like “you are limiting me from doing something…”
So what do you do….
Simple genie rule - if you understand what a cap is and how bandwidth is calculated - then you obviously don’t need one. If you haven’t got a clue what it all means - go for a 2gb version and get a cheaper price
