NTL to re-brand as Virgin Media

Re-branding to Virgin Media will help eradicate NTL’s poor reputation for customer service, says broadband comparison site Broadband Genie.
NTL chief executive office Steve Burch recently announced that NTL would be known as Virgin Media from the beginning of 2007. The announcement comes after NTL’s take over of Virgin Mobile earlier this year.
The merger put NTL in the unique position of being able to offer “quad-play” – broadband, digital TV, home and mobile phone services.
Broadband Genie CEO Phillip Wilkinson says: “NTL has suffered from a poor reputation for customer service in the past and the re-branding to Virgin Media will hopefully improve customer perception of the brand.”
