Best Broadband provider is a joke.
Beware they have over debited my bank acount by three times the monthly amount,took ages to sort our and no apology or explanation
A complaint loogged on 6th March is still not responded to now 24th March.
Customer Services will blame different parts of their company but not resolve anything within a resaonable time.
Shame because the actual broadband service itself is good but do beware it you have a complaint or billing enquiry be warned - they handle these at dial up speeds!!!
Before they were taken over some years ago this would not have been a problem,bring back the origimal Eclipse managment team!

This can only be one of these fancy/fake awards like those they have in the perfumery and toiletery industry… and many other industries. These guys have an ‘award’ created to give themselves awards which sounds very official and repsectable in an attempt to get public confidence for their crap products (would be cheaper to just deliver a real top of the notch product be here we go…). You know, like the ‘Skin Care Fondation’ for L’Oreal that you here at the end of each TV add.
My Eclipse broadband is down since 16 days and they are stil unable to fix the problem! Today, the situation is exactely the same as 16 days ago… NO broadband connection working. I precise that the same situation applies to my three desktops; it is not a problem my side. Something which has been recognised by customer service from day 1.
I have been with Eclipse for 3 years.
It used to be excellent but it has been bought by Kingston and since the speed has been very irregular and I have had to often reboot the modem to ‘clear things up’ and go back to decent speed.
Eclipse now actualy out-source its (my, your) broadband using other low grade suppliers such as Tiscaly. Something nobody told me and that I discovered when trying to sort this problem out.
I am filling out a complaint to OFFTEL and OFFCOM and will switch to bethere.co.uk who has good reputation and an up to 24 broadband speed.
I very rarely publicly post a complaint but this situation is affecting my business and so my life and I won;t recommand Eclipse to anyone.

Seconded and thirded: three other friends and I are all with Eclipse, and we’ve suffered unexplained downtime for weeks on end, loss of earnings, ill-informed and misleading tech support, and slow speeds.
They sell 8Mbps but provide 2Mbps - and that’s if you can connect at all.
Verdict: rubbish.
The award: a joke.
The shame is that they used to be excellent before the takeover. I’m migrating as soon as possible to Zen (Bethere take 1-3 weeks to flick a switch at your local exchange, which is lame).

The speed was appalling, and the customer service was non existent.
I spent a grand total of 4 days with them, before realising and needed a speed greater than 5kbs !!
The main reason I believe is, they buy their lines from Tiscali.
Who in turn gets them from BT.
I struggled to exercise my 7 day cooling off period as the cancellation takes time.
I’m back with BT.
Lets see how that goes.
please do not use this provider. they are rubbish. they have gone through a takeover and has meant they have become incompetant. i used to love them. REALLY I DID. VALUE VALUE VALUE. However, NOW, they strangulate broadband, shape traffic and slow your speed considerably with no warning. Then when you cancel they charge you £40. this cant be right. i cancelled in May 3rd. since then they want £90 lol. what a joke. they still chargeing and the service is still active on logon, my calls are still being billed to them. lol they think im paying!!!!!!
Eclipse more like total eclipse as there is always a blackout of service.
Tech support has no idea and when you bug them they just hang up or close your support ticket.
Anybody fancy taking a class action against them for either breech of contract or deception or maybe fraud?
We could do this through the county court. Would not cost a lot and we could give them some bad publicity. Anyone interested I’ll send contact details.
Eclipse are a complete joke. Signed up for their Evolution 1 package. According to my network icon I am connected at 7.3Mbps. Consistently. Apart from a rare burst downloading a file at 470kbps I rarely manage to venture above 20kbps. At present I am hovering at 17kbps and after two months of absolute crap I consider this to be a result!! Leaving Eclipse within next day or so. Total SH!TE!
I agree. I have been with eclipse for just 2 days (switched from pipex who are crap but still 10 times better then this) on the evolution option 1 package and I also struggle to get download speeds above 20kbps. Have just changed to home broadband option 3, hope it’s better or I will be telling them to p!ss off.
I have been with Eclipse since Feb 2004. I started with their Home 500 package and a while ago they automatically upgraded it to Flex 1000. All was fine until recently. I have been away at university and I’ve returned for the Easter break. I can barely download Powerpoints from my university intranet it’s that slow. If I try to download anything from uTorrent in the day I get speeds of 10kbps and I cannot surf the net! What’s going on? They used to be so good! I’m also annoyed that I haven’t been upgraded to their Evolution Option 3 package as I’m paying the same money! At uni we use Virgin. I don’t like them - they haven’t sorted out the phone which hasn’t worked since installation in October - but I get really good download speeds with them (1700kbps) and I’m only on the 4MB package!
Eclipse has been eclipsed… So sad to see you go after 4 years but you’re like an old car that won’t start!
