Nice guide - however it’s slightly out of date. MAC’s are now obligatory and providers must give these out to their customers upone request. It can take up to 5 working days to receive this (generally via email) and some ISP’s are better than others in getting them issued.
Migrations ’should’ take 5 working days or less and again… some providers are better than others at managing the transition.
