After recently moving house in Cambridge I decided to get a BT broadband connection installed.
The initial idea was to document the sign-up / activation process so that Genie visitors could read it, as a real life example of getting a broadband connection - but truth be told there’s not enough to say…
The wireless hub arrived on time and the connection worked straight off - much to my delight when I recieved gleeful instant messages at work from my housemates!
To conclude, I chose BT Option 2 (despite it not being the cheapest option available) because I was hoping for a level of dependability, which I got. There were some issues getting the phone line activated, but the broadband was a piece of cake.

I’ve had BT Total Broadband option 2 since December 2006 on 18 month contract.
Had very little trouble and when problems occurred they were dealt with fairly efficiently by BT, except, maybe the accents on the phone can be a little difficult to understand, none the less, pretty good for all that.
Better news. I rang BT today to check my end of contract date as I am shopping around for a better deal and was promptly offered a discount to renew with BT:
£14.99 for opton 2 or £17.99 for option 3, both 12 month contracts.
Makes them attractive again eh!
