According to (somewhat unusual) research by broadband provider Orange, one in five parents upload pictures of their newborn babies to the internet within ten minutes of their birth!
Orange Broadband conducted its research as part of a study into how pregnancy and birth announcements have evolved over the course of the last 20 years - and the findings show that technology now plays a huge part in communicating such big events to friends and family. All that proud parents now need is a mobile camera phone, and they can let all their loved ones in on their news within minutes.
Further to this (and even more crazily), Orange related that 21% of parents or expectant couples had created social networking profiles dedicated to their baby (that’s 57,000 babies with their own facebook/myspace etc profile)!
