Read O2 MMSs on an iPhone

A few weeks ago we stumbled upon an Apple iPhone-optimised website called iApps, but we didn’t get around to flagging it up at the time.
Well, we want to put that right today because iApps is rapidly becoming one of our favourite iPhone websites. Recently, for example, iApps added a link to a web service that lets UK users easily read MMS messages sent to an iPhone.
So what is iApps? Put simply, it is home to a growing list of web pages designed to look and feel just like an iPhone app you might’ve downloaded and installed from the App Store. What’s the point of that? More after the cut.
Rather than us trying to describe iApps, the best bet is to pay the site a visit using your iPhone – just click here.
Now select one of the web app links and see what happens: your iPhone looks like it’s running an app, though really you’re viewing a well-designed website in Safari.
Yep, we know this isn’t a new idea – the Hahlo interface is similar, for example – but the services hosted by or linked from iApps put on a convincing show of being kosher full-blown apps.
It’s very easy to forget you’re in Safari, in fact; so remember, these ‘apps’ are only accessible when you have a net connection.
Right now, take your pick from UK traffic news, an MMS reader, travel information on the London Tube or a limited display test for the iPhone screen.
