Smartphone review: The HTC HD2

Everyone may be going on about the new Apple iPhone 4, for both good and bad reasons, but the simple truth is that not everyone can afford one. Also, despite what they may have you believe, that isn't the only handset in the world with a pretty full and impressive feature set.

HTC's HD2 came out at the end of 2009, and turned the majority of tech geek heads with its huge 4.3-inch touchscreen. It also has the HTC Sense interface, which many consider to be up there with Apple's UI, alongside a five-megapixel camera, 1GHz processor, a microSD slot supporting memory cards up to 32GB - the list goes on.

Despite being on the shelves for more than six months, this is still rattling around the upper echelons of our smartphone tables. And, of course, as time passes the deals get better and better. You can now get your hands on one for as little as £25 per month, with the handset costing you absolutely nothing extra.

The one downside might be the fact it runs on Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, which isn't the most popular out there.
