Smartphone review: The iPhone 4

It's fair to say that, despite all the obsessive Apple geeks and an amazing deluge of press coverage, Apple's initial flirtings with the smartphone market haven't been without their hiccups.

The 'i' phenomenon is well grounded in some fantastic products. The iPod range has a well earned stranglehold on the MP3 player market, while Apple's App Store and iTunes software is remarkably robust and easy to use. Even the iPad is a fantastic piece of kit, if you can actually work out what the point in having one is (answers on a postcard...).

But the iPhone has been rocking a little ever since launch, dogged with a variety of mostly phone related problems. Yes, it has sold by the lorry load, but as a smartphone it has had its critics at each incarnation. So how does Apple's latest attempt, the iPhone 4, stand up?

Julian Prokaza got his hands on one, and brings you a detailed review over at our Apple iPhone 4 deals comparison page
