Smartphone review: HTC One X

We got hold of a One X for testing as part of this year’s Broadband Genie Road Trip and as a huge fan of the original HTC Desire I was looking forward to spending some time with HTC’s latest and greatest. My Desire is over two years old now and starting to show its age, and with my contract up I am in the market for a new model.

The One X was near the top of my list of potential contenders, but despite being seriously impressed by its outstanding screen it’s now out of the running. The performance is awesome, it looks and feels every bit as slick as it should and I’m not even too bothered by the size of the thing.

So what’s wrong? The poor battery is one issue, though I could probably live with that using apps like Tasker and Juice Defender. The real problem is its missing microSD slot. I regularly swap memory cards for various reasons and don’t want to have to constantly worry about running out of space or trust files to the cloud.

But this is personal preference and they’re not fatal mistakes. There’s still a lot to like about the One X - great camera, intuitive software, the aforementioned display - so if you can tolerate those flaws it is still highly recommended.

The One X is a great Phone. It's fast, it has a gorgous screen, good audio output and a great camera. But I've had now three of this Phones (within the last 10 Days) which were faulty. flickering screen, clicking when pressing on the screen...
But now, i have a good phone, and I'm very happy with it.
