Smartphone review: Nokia Lumia 800

For this year's Broadband Genie Road Trip we took along a selection of the latest smartphones, in addition to a handful of dongles. That included the Nokia Lumia 800, and it was a surprise hit even among the iPhone faithful.

Partly it was the novelty of seeing Windows Phone rather than another Android or iOS device, but the beautiful hardware and slick UI garnered a great deal of attention.

Nokia has (almost) always done a great job when it comes to hardware and it seems a great deal of effort has gone into its Windows Phone devices. The Lumia 800 is a beautiful smartphone which feels and looks fantastic - the designers at HTC and Samsung should take a close look as it uses the same polycarbonate material as the One X and Galaxy S3 but feels like a much pricier handset than either of those mobiles.

It also helps that the Lumia 800 is packing a wonderful OLED screen which really shows off Microsoft's innovative and likeable Windows Phone interface.

Genie Ventures team member Dan Makwana was so impressed he set down his cherished iPhone for a few weeks to put the Lumia 800 through its paces.

Check out his impressions in the full Lumia 800 review.

Nokia with Windows Phone combines the best in stylish hardware with the best in stylish software. Nokia Lumia 800 is a result colourful touch screen stylish phone and it's specification is too good
