Poll results: What would most affect your mobile broadband purchase?

The result of our latest Mobile Broadband Genie Poll have been announced - thanks to everyone who gave their opinion. We have to admit we were a bit surprised by the outcome. 

The final totals were as follows:

What would most affect your mobile broadband purchase?
Stability 152 (11.4%)
Fast speeds 309 (23.2%)
Lower price 290 (21.8%)
Usage cap 173 (13.0%)
Added extras 409 (30.7%)
Total responses 1333  

These results are very interesting and may surprise, and frustrate, the UK's mobile broadband suppliers. The desire for added extras is a hangover from the mobile companies' insistence on giving away everything from free handsets to games consoles with mobile phone tariffs - you guys know dongles come from the same firms, and want more freebies.

As for speed, it seems like the one thing the mobile broadband internet suppliers can't provide. As fast as they improve their networks and add base stations, we're signing up to mobile broadband and smartphone deals, using up all the bandwidth. Here at Broadband Genie, we say 4G can't come soon enough!
