New 3G router released

Thursday 29 May 2008

A new 3G router has been announced by Billion heralding the first ever router for sharing a 3G SIM. Although mobile broadband operator 3 had been working on its own broadband router it seems that that Billion has pipped it to the post. The Billion BiPac 7402GXL 3G router uses a mobile broadband signal from a USB dongle, then shares it with all the Wi-Fi devices in the house. It can also work as a standard router too without the USB Modem plugged in, so if you want to use it for non-3G wireless broadband then that's an option too.

With four wired ethernet ports, it can also hold any other non-wireless kit. Compatible with Vodafone, T-Mobile, 3, Orange and O2 it will provide download speeds of up to 24Mbps using a standard phone line, or up to 14.4Mbps via 3G. The Billion BiPAC 7402GXL 3G router is out now and is available for a RRP of £75. Source: Electricpig
