Bundled Broadband is a better deal

Wednesday 13 August 2008

A new study from Point Topic has found bundled broadband packages to offer customers a better deal than standalone broadband. This was found to be the case worldwide, but particularly for customers based in Western Europe. The average price of a bundled broadband package tied in with a VoIP service averaged out at £25.17, a reduction of almost £35.87 compared to the previous quarter. Alternatively, the average cost of a bundled broadband and IPTV package was found to be £31.97 compared to an average standalone broadband tariff of £29.71. "Ultimately ISPs want customers, and they want customers who generate revenue, in particular they want growth in revenue. To achieve this they are going to have to hook into all aspects of communication and data transfer, whether it's voice, video or plain bits," said Fiona Vanier, Senior Analyst. "A subscriber who takes more than one service from an ISP is more likely to stay with that provider. They are more likely to generate more revenue over their customer cycle than plain broadband subscribers and that's what the ISPs, and their shareholders, require," explained Vanier.
