Ofcom reports drop in broadband complaints

Watchdog, Ofcom has confirmed the number of complaints it has received related to broadband and telephone problems has fallen over the past twelve months. However, it has suggested this drop in figures may be related to factors affected by the economic downturn, such as a slowing housing market. It explained: “That's because problems sometimes occur when people switch their broadband and home phones as part of the moving process.”

 

 

The top six most complained about issues included problems with broadband switching, fixed line and mobile mis-selling, additional charges and silent calls. Compared to figures in May 2008, the number of complaints focussing on broadband migrations and MAC codes almost halved during the course of the year.

Ofcom's complaints data was published alongside the latest edition of its Consumer Bulletin, detailing changes to its consumer work over the past few months. Responsible for taking action against companies found to be breaking the law as well as highlighting problem areas in the telecoms industry Ofcom has produced a number of consumer advice guides to help people tackle issues related to the broadband and telephone industry.

I am with sky broadband and i am on the mid package 40gb.
Today i got a letter saying they have changed the 40 gb to
10gb, but i still pay the same money! Report abuse
