Virgin Media signs three-screen TV on-demand deal with Disney

Virgin Media has announced it's settled on an agreement with Disney to bring a host of new kid's content across its three entertainment platforms. As well as the addition of the recently launched Disney XD channel the deal brings TV on demand content including HD programming to home users, as well as rights for a number of Disney shows to be made available online and via the mobile screen.
Popular Disney shows including Hannah Montana, Phineas and Ferb and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse will be on offer from all three Disney channels as well as movies on demand, including High School Musical and Camp Rock.
Speaking on the launch, Katharine Burns, executive director of content acquisitions at Virgin Media, said: “Virgin Media has been a pioneer in developing new TV services and our three screens deal with Disney is a perfect example of how driving innovation can benefit the consumer and enhance their viewing experience.”
Virgin Media has announced it will be exploring new ways to deliver TV content through the use of its fibre optic cable network. The provider commented: “Using the combine power of its fibre optic cable network, on demand TV service and mobile platform, Virgin Media customers will be able to view shows whenever and wherever they want.”
