Excellent ISP, really reliable & fast, had nothing but a positive experience with them since October '07. Highly recommended, well worth the money for the speed.

GO FOR IT!!!
I was getting 4MB on 8MB nildram/gotadsl I'm a verified 1.8 km from the exchange - ripped out all the extension cables so the modem ( 3 Com) was straight into the old style single front plate BT master gave me 6MB with a good quality ADSL filter - Nildram had no interest in sorting my connection speed issues......
the move to BE delivered 14MB+++ ( they estimated 16MB and I now ger this ) you can experiment with "Fastpath" if you like to tweak as the modem (A thompson speedtouch 585) can communicate with "DMT for Windows" so you can decide whether to go for highest speed and the odd line drop or lower speed and consistent connection ( 13905kbps / 1308kbps currently and 8 days and 11 hours since my last loss of signal)
BT replaced the old wires from the local telegraph pole to the house and installed the new style wall socket after line damage during a storm resulted in line noise - not a big improvement

I got Be at the end of December and so far have been very happy with the service. I'm on the 8MB £14.99 contract and paying the same as my previously ISP, UK Online, where I was on a 2MB scheme.
I now get a fairly stable at 4MB/s download and 1.3MB upload. Does anyone get close to 8MB/s over copper lines?
I was also considering Virgin which was also competitive but they also take your phone and I was wary that if they did not deliver I would lose my phone number and need to reconnect to BT with a new number.

I have been with BE since i got recomendation from a friend. It has been working fine beside a downtime on the exchange i am connected to. The information provided from BE is excelent so far. The 1st line support is sometime very stubbern and will and want to point all the problem to your local home line and if you know what you are looking for or if you know that the problem is not with you house then they still say it is until you show and provide them data. I also like the fact that you can get static IP address. I recomend them to anyone, if you want a good ISP with good speed reliable then i recomend Be. U can get about £60 cashback via "QuidCo".

Been with Be for 6 months, and I have to say the service is twitchy to say the least.
Im only a mile from exchange so speeds are great when working 22.5meg.
The big problem is connection is always dropping out, every day at least 3 times.
THE ROUTER which comes with Be is rubbish,go out and get a Netgear or similar.
If you want a cheap/fast service then Be is Ok,but if you need it to be reliable go elsewere

i have been a Bethere customer for just less than a month and have found it to be a load of horse poo. there customer service is abismal, they lost interest in my connection ticket so i started a complaint ticket only to have them try to sort my connection problem there, then they got bored with that ticket so had to start a feedback ticket only to be told it’s not their end thats faulty.oh yeah thats after 3 phone calls before the tickets. the problem of being dropped from the connection once an evening has been in play from day 1 almost 1 month. my connection speed starts between 5mb and 7.2 but because of the loss of connection it gets lowered by atleast 1-1.5mb
there 3 month no fee getout actually costs you £72 (£24 per month until disconnect) instead of £50 for a 2 week express disconnect

I am not yet connected to BE, but so far the information that I have been receiving from them via both email and mobile is great.
I received a message today that my Welcome pack had been despatched. They also sent me a link so I could track the package.
All good stuff! It all seems to be going so smoothly so far.
Will give you an update when I am connected.

Been with BE for about 2 months now, having switched from BT. My line quality is poor, and although I used to get about 1.8Mbps with BT this had dropped latterly to about 1.1 on their 8 meg service. I'm now on the BE 24Meg service for a lower price - although I would never get anything close to the 24Meg available. However, my speed is now about 3.5Mbps, which is far higher than I could get from any non LLU outfit. The router is fine, the connection stable and best of all, it doesn't slow down noticeably at peak times. The customer support is in Bulgaria, and fine they are - on a freephone number too. For the techies among you there is a very active forum with all kinds of hints about how to tweak your connection to get the most speed out of it. For the rest, it 'just works' straight out of the box. Go back to BT? Never!

I can only praise Be for the excellent service so far... Ordered Be Lite last Saturday and less than a week later am surfing the net at 12Mbs... The customer service so far is the best I've had anywhere - text messages to tell me I can get Be, when it'll be delivered and activated.. Emails welcoming me and giving a link to track the delivery of the modem from London to Leicester and to home, and a final text to say I've been activated less than a week from ordering. Wow!

I am not going to say anything what others said so far but If you need broadband for your home or office BE is the only answere.
- Good customer Service
- Quick and effecitent response time
- Short contact
- Mega fast speed in both direction
What made BE different from others is they actually called me at my work place to tell me:
- Money has been taken from my Credit Card
- Confirm Activation Date
- And to tell me line is actually activated
All done within FIVE business days.
And all for £24 month ??????
Now if any other ISP reading this - Beat it if you can.

quick, efficient easy and the speed was as announced when i called them. Only stupid thing is that they ask you to confirm your order by email only! It was a pain as I didn't have internet whatsoever. But at least they were texting me regularly to let me know that it was being processed, then that the money was being taken from my account and finally that the modem was sent and and the connection live.

I've had Be for around 4 months now and haven't yet had a connection problem, that I know of. Generally I find it pretty reliable and getting constant hight speeds. 3 month contract helps a lot, as does not having any bandwidth cap. Customer service is also top notch and better than many other services I've tried. SO, I'm going to keep with these guys for a while and see how it goes - so far, so very good.

I've had superb service with these guys and getting lightning fast speeds constantly. Granted I only use it at evenings and weekends but they are the peak times anyway - so must still be good during the day.
Definitely recommend them.

Worked for 3 days then had not Internet for 35 days. They came to the conclusion that they could not fix the problem and that I had to go with another company. I Phoned them over 50 times.
DO NOT GO NEAR THEM

I've been with be for a few months now - the 24meg service is excellent! Very fast although beware that the advertised 24meg is relative to your distance to the exchange. However the support team will pinpoint you and tell you exactly how far you are from the exchange and tell you honestly what speeds to expect - if you ask though!
You get a good wireless router although a bit clunky (currently hidden under my desk out of sight).
No 12 month contract! So cancel when you please.
Customer service are based in Asia and the team is very knowledgeable. Also a good refer a friend scheme.
Sure you can get broadband for cheaper but not if you want the fastest! (Their upload speed is good too when compared to others 1.3meg)

I found Be's overall service to be fantastic.
The router provided is very easy to configure and is just plug-and-play if you don't want to fiddle with any of the more advanced settings. The overall presentation of the setup package is excellent, with very clear instructions.
The data rate is very dependent on your line quality and distance from the exchange (I personally get 6-8MBit, a friend who's closer to his exchange gets about 18-20MBit), but the Be forums are packed with hints for improving it.
For the price, and considering the contract is so short, it's a bargain and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I've been with Be for three months now and so far the service has been very good. We've had one period of around three hours downtime but, other than that, nothing significant. I was particularly pleased to be activated and online less than a week after ordering and even more pleased when we didn't get any complaints from Be after downloading over 300GB in our first month!
The connection is stable and fast. We connect at 16Mbps and get solid 1.5-1.6MB/s downloads when connected via a network cable. However, the wireless router provided by Be is rubbish in my opinion. We've had compatibility problems with one wireless card, occasional crashes and, when downloading wirelessly, we only usually get 300-800KB/s. Having said that, this may be a limitation of the wireless technology rather than the router as I haven't had chance to test any other wireless routers on this connection.
Dino: I think their support is based in Hungary, not Asia. And the tell a friend scheme no longer exists.

I've had Be for the past year now, and have been very pleased with the service for the most part. The few connection issues that occured when the service first launched have been mostly ironed out and it's now extremely reliable. Importantly, when there are planned outtages they keep you informed of when this occurs.
There's lots of reasons to recommend Be - from the nifty 3 month contract (which is handy if you're moving about), to the lack of usage restrictions, and of course the speed. But what also makes it stand out is the quality of customer service and the simple, efficient format it uses. The online ticket system is excellent, far more efficient than ringing a call centre. And they don't treat you like idiots - they actually respond to whatever requests or questions you may have.
All quite refreshing stuff really, but no doubt at least partly due to Be's current small size. I hope the O2 re-branding doesn't mess things up, but I fear the worst.
