I was with BT for a few years but the service got worse. I live only a 1/2 mile from the exchange but the promised 8Mb connection turned out to be only about 1Mb. More recently that has gone down to 0.5Mb!
So after reading all the good reviews I thought I'd give O2 a try. I have an O2 mobile already so I got the connection at a discounted rate. I opted for standard, which is advertised as 8Mb down and 1.3Mb up.
It was very easy to sign up through the O2 website and after getting the MAC code from BT I didn't really have to do much at all. At each point O2 notified me via SMS and email as to the status of the order. I was given an expected delivery date of the equipment and of the installation. Both were on time as communicated.
Now I'm connected and I see I'm getting 12Mb rather than 8Mb. How can I complain? ;o)
The only downside IMHO is that they don't accept direct debits as payment and you have to use a credit card.
Other wise 10/10.

I have been trying to establish whether I can get O2 broadband in my area (High Wycombe), however, after many enquiries using the O2 web-site I'm merely told "we'll let you know when it's avaiable". Does this mean I cannot get O2 broadband yet? Help, as I wish to convert quickly!

Well i was with Pipex for 10 years but from November 07 they were poor service and reliability, so i tried and exchanged to O2 .
Really good set up good O2 box and and plenty of information about when i was going to be signed up and online.
Have downloaded a 1.37gb from Fileplane.com a game demo in 28 minutes, the fastest i have ever downloaded and the speed tests from 4 different sources make this connection at around 6.5 -7.85 mb, more than twice as fast than Pipex ever was and for £10 a month for Premium O2 broadband absolutely excellent.
Pipex used to be really good ISP, but since bought by Tiscali they have gone down hill, see online blogs, done my research and O2 were getting good reviews and thought i would give them a go.
Well today is the first time live have had it for 6 hours now and can still download sometimes near 1 mb sec so really please with O2 if they can keep this spped and reliability up then i will be thrilled to bits.
Will keep you informed

I actually work for O2 broaband and am a customer myself. The notable difference is the pro-activeness. SMS when you place the order, when its been processed and finally when you go live. The line is monitored to keep an eye on your speed, and if its not as fast as first predicted you can downgrade the package with no fee/penalty.
Its a fast service and I havent experienced a single issue with it, and 24/7 uk support for free is a bonus!

Where is o2 broadband?
Why did they buy Be Broadband if they're not going to even offer a package deal discount?!
