Its really Shocking to read some of the negative reviews. I guess with any isp, there will be problems/unsatisfied customers... I hope this review helps new and existing customers who are facing problems..... I have been a Tiscali broadband customer for just over two years now, and have never had any problems! I have recommended all family and freinds to Tiscali and havent had any negative feedback. From my experience, the customer service, network reliability, as well as speed, has been very good.. I currently rate Tiscali as one of the more reliable companies on the market & Hope they keep up the good work! I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ALL! Generally, their broadband service has been reliable, and at £19.99 per month to include all land line phone calls, its good value. However, when we moved house they were unbelievably inefficient at transferring our service. It took a month.Their ability to communicate with a dissatisfied customer is appalling.

I'm trying to upgrade since april 2007. It's may 2008. Keep calling them and every singe time when they answer they say I'm on 2meg but they can do an upgrade for me. Imagine to hear this for a year every second week!!! I've been charged for the upgrade but still nothing. Changed landline number about 2 years ago, called them to let them know, the online account still shows the old number. Can't cancel because they put me in another contract in november the only way is to pay off the remaining months. I don't even mention the problems with the bills. I was gonna paste the e-mail what I sent to the complaint centre this morning but its too long. Tiscali is a DEFINITELY NO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If tiscali reduce the prices of a package they do not inform their customers and they do not automaticaly reduce your monthly payments. For the second time now I have found I have been paying over the odds for my broad band connection. They were indifferent to my complaint so I have cancelled and will now go elsewere.

Do not sign up to Tiscai!!! If it's working it's fine, but as soon as anything goes wrong I have experienced a total lack of customer service from thier foreign call centre. It drove me to despair to get even the smallest thing done. They only called back when it suited them rather than at an agreed time to suit me, so I took day off work and waited in all day. It took 5 calls before anyone actually took responsibility. They couldn't even get it right to call me back to check they'd solved the problem and it was working OK. I await their formal response to my recent written complaint. Save yourself the hasssle and buy from someone who wants your business.

I was a customer with Tiscali for over 5 years and everything was fine. Come to moving house - when you actually need some customer support - that's when you realise how poor they are. 6 weeks, multiple phone calls and unkept promises of call-backs and I've had enough. I've cancelled and requested my MAC code. Of course that can take up to 5 days to generate, then another 10 days to switch to the new supplier so it looks like I'll be disconnected for a while yet. I had to buy a 3 mobile broadband modem otherwise I'd be in a right mess as I need the internet for my job. Avoid Tiscali if you ever think you'll move house!

I'm on the 2meg deal, download speed from around 4pm to midnight is about 200kbps, Tiscali is ok if you don't go to bed before 12midnight and don't go to work or school during the day, otherwise STAY CLEAR

Tiscali = rubbish waited 3 months to find out that my line will only support 2mb (even though their site assured me I could get 7mb) after months of calls to technical support (reboot you pc) finaly get this letter (note the english) apologise for the inconvenience and sorry for the delay response, as I checked your accounts I found that you wont be able to receive more than 2 Meg though you Line supports 8 Meg because as per Circuit build on your exchange as off now we wont be able to provide you more then 2 meg. Would like request you that you can call billing and asked them to downgrade your package to 2 Meg. Number for our billing is 0871 222 3311 with option 2 and then 2. Broadband OK. Have 8Mb / Talk package. Regularly have 5.9 - 6Mb speed. Phone definitely has problems. Dialling tone disappears. Can not ring out at times, but incoming OK. How are we expected to ring for help when the phone is duff? Can't afford to keep ringing on pay as you go mobile. I usually drop them an email to report fault. Takes a long time? Of course it does, but the fault doesn't get put right any quicker if reported by phone. Often gets put right without a fault report. Such faults have only occurred since I put my phone in the hands of Tiscali.

Service has become poor. Good luck and much patience if you want to try to speak to anyone about upgrading or cancelling your contract.Been with them now for 4 years and am very keen to move to someone who can offer me a faster service with more reliability. Tiscali now = rubbish!

Arranged to change phone from BT and broadband from onetel to Tiscali package nw been without phone line or bradband for a week and having to go back to BT. Tiscali were totaly useles tried for hourts to get through to there customer service and told a pack of lies. Avoid like the plague

I don't understand all these negative reviews, I've been with Tiscali for 18 months and the service has been fine. They recently upgraded me to Tiscali max (strangely enough without me asking!) for £15 month which includes line rental and weekend and evening calls. Line speed varies between 1.9 to 2.3 Mps but that is because of the exchange. It never drops below this and I use the internet at all times of day as I sometimes work from home on an internet link. I've found customer service to be excellent and polite, although some operators are more clued up than others. On my experience I would recommend.

Been trying since july 2007 to get upgraded to tiscali max.Im on 1Mb though I have supposibly been free upgraded to 2Mb.Get told the upgrade to max has been completed then get a letter to say they cant do it. Then I`get phone calls from salesmen trying to to sell me the upgrade.The award for service claimed by tiscali can only have been awarded by themselves.Trouble is its good deal if only I could get it but at the moment Im being charged £25 a month for a 1Mb connection.Ridiculous!!

Originally on Tiscali's 1Mb service, and it was perfect. 1Mb speeds 24/7, as they advertised. Problems came when I upgraded to 2Mb, yet was never actually put on 2Mb (Still only got 1Mb speeds). After trying and failing with their customer support (It's my phone line's fault, it's my fault, it's my computer's fault, but it's nothing to do with them that my internet isn't working properly) I decided to live with it. Now recently, I'm getting 1Mb from about midnight, but during the late afternoon/evening (when I use it most) I don't achieve over 300kbps. Just upgraded to the 8Mb service, as it was the same price as the 2Mb I was paying for. Guess I'll have to wait and see what happens...

Terrible. Avoid. Tiscali must have the worst support on the planet. Took ages to get connected. When package arrived they had spelt my name wrong so have an unusable email address! Phone one number to be given a recorded message with another which then has a recorded message for a third. Endless telephone menu options huge waits as constantly understaffed and when you do finally get through (provided the call isn't dropped - which happens regularly, especially during transfers) miserable un-knowledgable and unhelpful staff. Broadband is okay when it works although over the time we've had it there have been several down periods and whilst I'm on the 2mb package the fair usage cap means that if you're a heavy user you won't get that most of the time. Overpriced compared to competitors and to make it worse there is no option for me to upgrade to one of the promotional tarrifs even though I'm out of my contract and can move at any time. If you use these muppets BEWARE!

This ISP falls down because its download speeds during the day and evenings are rubbish,typically 300Kb on their 2Mb service.If you don't mind surfing after 1am in the morning you can get 1.9Mb! I might be able to live with poor customer service,but consistently poor speeds,I'm afraid not.Spoils all the fun of surfing!

The customer service is so poor! They take weeks to sort out any problems. I'm sure it's all fine and dandy if you are lucky enough not to have any problems with tiscali, but if, like me, you do, you will have to chase them time and time again. I have a broadband/phone/line rental package with them, and whilst there have been no problems with the broadband, the phone has had numerous faults. They are certainly cheap, but you get what you pay for. Very frustrating company to deal with, and as soon as the one year contract is up I will change (only 9 months to go...)

I have been with Tiscali some years now and have been very pleased-i have had few if any issues-switching packages seems to be straightforward. I currently pay for 8mb with uk anytime calls and seem to regularly get circa 5mb. I have no experience of other providers but have been pleased with hassle free experience with Tiscali. I guess like with everything these days- when it works its fine but according to a lot of these reviews when it goes wrong it is a different matter. I have no complaints

Dont touch with a barge pole. Moved house at the end of September and they never reconnected me at my new address. After 8 weeks of promising that it will be on within 7 days i gave up and went with Sky (much cheaper and better value) Some of the excuses i was given were faults at the exchange and non BT line. Sky connected me in under 10 days with no problems what-so-ever. I am now waiting 4 weeks to receive a refund for the money they took whilst i had no service. If i did not stop my dd they would still be tsaking money from me. I am now going to the small claims court to recover my costs as i have had enough of waiting. AVOID TISCALI AT ALL COSTS IF YOU WANT A DECENT PROVIDER!!!!

I agree with all that has been quoted by other victims of tiscali lies, I moved from talk talk because of slow connections, the first few weeks were great, really fast speeds, but from 8mb to 495kbs, mmmmmm I think they suck big time and should be investigated for false promises, so to all users thinking of switching DONT BOTHER !!!!!

I had a 2MB service with Onetel for two years with no problems then the Carphone Warehouse came along and took them over need I say more. I hoped Tiscali would provide an 8MB service but..... I do love the past but I do not wish to return to the days of crap dial-up Tiscali. And as for the Tech-nic-al ser-vice, what a joke. I broke the words up just in case any moron from Tiscali customer services reads this. 10 foot Barge poles and Tiscali are made for each other.

I have been with Tiscali for 18 months and was using Tiscali Max. Generally the service was good until I moved to new address. From past 40 days I am trying to transfer by broadband & talk package to new address, every time I call, the executive will say I will get the broadband in 5-7 (sometimes 7-10) working days. Earlier they told me to cancel the BT line and after placing cancellation order they told me, if i cancel BT line they can't provide broadband. Last week I called them (almost a month) they told me they could not find any order. The customer service is so pathetic that they will give wrong information and even they disconnect the conversion.

I have had tiscali broadband for about a year and a half now, and its horrendous. Normally works ok (slow) but their speed at switching from one home to another is appauling. Really really appauling, and I hasten to add that I do not exagerate. If moving home is a factor for anyone, i really reccomend that you do not use Tiscali - I have been waiting 60+ days (yes, you read that correctly, 60 days or 1/6 of a year) for tiscali to switch my broadband, and it still hasnt went through. Thats about 40 working days, double what they said it could take at the peak. Have been waiting since the end of August. Horrendous service, telephone advisers are unhelpful (they tell me to phone back in 2 days to tell me when its coming through, then in 2 days tell me another 2 days, etc). Horrible service. If you're with them they're passable. Just try & leave em! It's 6 months since i left & not a penny of the money they owe me has reached my bank account yet. Have just made a complaint with the independent arbitrator. If i owed them money for 6 months, the bailffs would be round.

Been with tiscali for 2 years now, on the 2MB £12.99 unlimited package and had no bother what so ever, march 2007 i bought a wireless router from a computer shop when i added a laptop to the home network, we couldn't work out how to set it up, not even a professional computer service man could set it up from the local high street, then we phoned tiscali to take us through it and we got it working no bother. Dunno if im just one of the lucky ones but I'd recomend tiscali to anyone, the customer support towards us was excellent, in may 2007 we switched to the tiscali talk package with all our calls and we've already saved a bundle, thinking about getting tiscali tv aswell when it comes out in tyne tee's. I'm on the internet nearly all the time, never had problems with no connection or slow speeds, ever n im on when i get in at 4 till 11 on weekdays and weekends all day till 2AM, never any bother, plays loads of games on pc, multiplayer they dont even run slow Tiscali best ISP to me!

I agree with so many of these messages, we have used tiscali for months and were great but recently there has seem to be problem after problem which no one seems to be able to sort out. They sent a notice on our screen saying that we had cancelled the direct debit but it was them who didnt try to take the money! I have spent hours on the phone and a £30 phone bill later I am still no where. I couldnt even cancel my contract with them! My advice to any one looking is to stay clear. It may be fine but when you have a problem no one seems to have a clue how to hekp you!

Started off ok with basic broadband then gradually upgraded to smart talk and then line rental in May. Then total disaster - moved house at the begining of July within the same telephone exchange area wanting to keep our telephone number. Tiscali told us they couldn't do it and we would have to cancel everything and go back to BT for line rental who would then pick up our old number when they (Tiscali) released it. Seriously bad information. The telephone service providors including BT are not allow to request specific numbers from BT Openreach, so we lost our old number. Got a new number eventually after several weeks of no pnone. Now have to cancel old broadband contract and take out new. This bit was straightforward except that after waiting 10 days we found out that there was a problem with Tiscali's order to BT Openreach. So now we still do not have Broadband and have not had it since the middle of June!!!! and I have not even mentioned the number of hours wasted on the phone.

terrible..... when we first got it at 1 meg we got download speeds of 200kb to about 350kb depending on the server, but after a while it started slowing down dramatically so we upgraded to 2 megs as it was free, the internet speed was faster for a while but soon it started getting slower again, we have now upgraded to 8 meg most of the time we are lucky to get above 70kb. The streaming for videos is just as bad. Also if you use peer to peer programs such as limewire this internet is not for you as the download speed will max out at about 20kb but usually hovers around 3kb to 0kb . Just terrible internet provider i would not advise to anyone.

Appaling customer service. They took the ASDL tag off my line without telling me and were uninterested when I called them to try and resolve the problem. They blamed BT. BT are now providing me with a far superior service. Steer well away from Tiscali and their Bangalore call centres wishing you a lovely day........

I've had an atrocious time with Tiscali. As of Christmas '06 I started experiencing connection problems along with many many other Tiscali customers, yet the Tiscali customer services refused to accept any blame, although I knew for a fact it wasn't my fault as everyone that I knew who used Tiscali had EXACTLY the same problems as me. They have since 'fixed' the problem but it's still unstaisfactory. During peak times I experince terrible connection speeds and some websites refuse to load. Downloading is a nightmare. This in itself is enough reason to avoid Tiscali, and this is an improvement on the service I got since Christmas '06. I'm currently looking to switch to a new broadband provider as the all round Tiscali package is unacceptable. All in all, if you're a frequent user of the internet, avoid Tiscali.

Cannot agree more with the complaints ! Poor speeds useless customer services and a nightmare to change as they have left an LLU on the line which prevents another provider from using it,so i am unable to dial out for 2 wks now with no sign of the uselss g*t* sorting it out.

Very Poor Download speeds, I pay for up to 8mb download speed, I get a download rate of abot 6mb at 5.00am this changes during the day, after lunch time it is down to around 300kbs and I am lucky if it stays a that level for the rest of the day, sometimes as low as 240kbs. VERY POOR SPEEDS, POOR Customer Service. The Tiscali Forum is full of complaints regarding speed. I am currently looking to change my provider. Was also promised in October 2006 free telephone line rental starting at the beginning of 2007, have just been told that this should be available in December in my Area - 12 months later than promised. STAY CLEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I reckon Tiscali are top of their league they have the slowest download and upload speed at 167 Kbps down and 230 Kbps up for 2 meg broadband, Tiscali said it may go faster if I rent the phone line from them, they have the rudest telephone operators in the UK not India, they hate their customers and rip them off when ever possible. So if you want poor customer service, un-reliable broadband, slow speeds and be ripped off from day one, then TISCALI is the one for you. Tiscali are never wrong it is always the fault of others you've got a slow speed thats your fault, ok no it's BT but not us you want a MAC code then go swim for it BT wholesale won't give us one, it can't be the fact that Tiscali has not asked BT for the code. I rate them top of the rubbish league, three cheers for Tiscali and give the dog a bone or bullet.

Im with bt thinking of moving to tiscalli tv, and with the execption of FUP i have the same problems since getting 8meg often slower then my 2meg connection with F2S leads me to think is this really a problem with the bt backbone not being able to cope with the service as 8m uses a different system to under 2m connections - just a thourght

Wel what can I add that hasn't already been said about Tiscali. Am on the 8meg Max product, am sure its realy dial up in disguise. Was ok for the first couple of months, then this year, well. I continually get disconnected without warning, the speed is a little better than dial up, sometime dial up is faster. I've wrang their customer service and if I was like that with my customers I would be sacked on the spot. THeir attitude is one of surpieriority with a we dont care attitude. If I had known the problems before connecting with them, I would have gone with some other ISP

As Homechoice, a very good package (incl. TV etc) with one outage in 12 months. Bought by Tiscali and have since had 4 outages in 2 months, support non-existent and I'm going elsewhere. Doesn't matter how good the package is if you can't rely on it, innit?

ive been with tiscali for 3 years now they have been absolutely brill even moved house once until........my usage got higher so decided to get tiscali MAX. did this on line got confirmation email wait 10 days ect. Never got upgraded. have tried 4 times now over the phone talking to 'tech suppport' (ha ha ha ha). no avail, luckily im now out of my commitment and plan to change provider get mac code etc. But until this i need to change tiscali to my new address as to get new provider set up there, as ive moved again. They said should of been 6 days but tiscali still at old address!!! From reading past reviews this may be the case for some time. Just makes you so angry when you have been loyal for so long when you ring they just dont give a dam, especially when you ring for the same thing!!

I had 1 meg broadband for almost a year and it was very slow so i phoned up and to cancel it and thy told me they would upgrade me to 8 meg for and extra £2.99 a month. Well basiclly my old 56k dial up was faster (8 meg my hole) and when i complained they blamed it on bt,so i phoned bt up and they tested my line and it came back ok.So tiscali get it up ye i will never be back.

I can only say that I am looking forward to the day when my 12 months is up and I can move provider. The service has always been unstable, never reaching the claimed 2Mb speed and frequently disconnecting due I assume to too many subscribers. The final straw was the complete fiasco Tiscali made of tranferring the service when I moved house. Beleive it or not the services was actually disconnected from and then reconnected to my old address before finally getting it correct. On the plus side the staff in the Indian call center were brilliant and extremely helpful. Unfortunaely everything that they thought they were doing from their end did not translate to action in my end. I was eventually offered a £20 rebate for loss of service about two months ago, I am still waiting to recieve it. My verdict, a good company that cannot cope with recent expansion, so go elsewhere until they sort themselves out.

I have been with Tiscali since Sept. '06. I started off with 2MB broadband and anytime calls £19.99, since then I have upgraded to the same package but cheaper and most recently upto Max broadband and anytime calls £17.99. I find them very good value, I have called customer services a few times and had no problems with them, I find the speed very good even at peak times. I must be very lucky?! For anyone that is having a problem with a TAG on the line, if you ring BT Wholesale they can check the line and remove the TAG no matter which provider left it. Hope this helps. I have been with BT and Wanadoo in the past and found Tiscali to be the best, so far!

There is this little thingy called FAIR USE POLICY, and if you find and show me an unlimited broadband without fair use policy for a comparable price, I will bow down to you. I too got caught in it and took me 6 months to get out - I admit their customer service really sucks, but I think that is the case for nearly all providers around. The way I see it, as long as you don't get into FUP (ie. download and upload big stuff outside 6-11 - you can play online games) you should be fine.

I think Tiscali should be investigated for fraud. They firstly promised me I would get 1Mb. They lied. Then they upgraded me to up to 8Mb. They lied; they only upgrade the price - they downgraded the line! They said they would call back. They lied. They told me there were problems on my line. They said it was BT's fault. That was a lie, too! They don't know what they're talking about. Their customer service is rubbish. Their technical support is amateurish (I'm an IT professional) and their broadband offers me a maximum of 256K, despite my paying for up to 3.5Mbps. I wouldn't go with Tiscali if they paid me! They are an absolute disgrace!!

dude tiscali suks they say unlimited (not!!!) they also claim 8mb but i only get around 1mb used to be around 3mb. they also stop u from using ps2 around 3-5 and if u got more than 2 pc or heavy user keep away!! i learned it the hard way

I would say a disaster their customer service is really annoying.I cancelled my tiscali broadband six month back but they continued charging me.I called them number of times to get the refund but no responses, it's almost 6 months.

I didnt have a problem at first with them. I started with the basic package and have worked my way up and now on the 2mb unlimited with free local phone calls for only 19.99. So when i saw the 8mb max with the same package for only 17.99 i tried to upgrade. They sent me an email saying it would upgrade on the 6th April. When i emailed them they said that my phone line didnt support 8mb, which is very strange because when i called BT they said it did. Im wondering if they really dont want resident customers going onto that as they will lose money. So now im looking for another provider which is a pity as ive been with Tiscali now for over 7 years.

I hate it!!!! its terrible, i am paying £15 for dialup basically. Up until 6pm its reasonable but still could be better. Then after 6pm there is no point even trying to use the internet until about 11pm cos it would take the 5 hours to load a decent website up its terrible. And when i contact them they say I'm a high download user, what are you on about??? I have read many reviews like mine so my advice is don't choose tiscali if your looking for broadband and if you are with them change as soon as possible!

complete nightmare to deal with, i ordered there broadband max package but 2 days later decided to say with aol so cancelled the order.Came home 4 days later to find my aol account was cancelled and tiscali was now set up so i phoned to cancel was told to phone back monday as customter accounts closed. Phoned monday got my mac within 2 hours of asking excellent i thought gone back to aol now after only 11 days with tiscali but hey presto now tiscali decide to tell me that im in a 12 month contract should read there own terms and conditions i cancelled well within my 14 day cooling of period not my fault there. Now being told they not sure what happend but it should be cancelled by tomorrow. Download speed was good during the day until around 6pm was getting 650kbs but oh dear after 6pm was lowest i got was 16kbs christ my dialup was faster. This is my account of them so make up your own mind but be warned.

I had unlimited broadband with them and 2 months ago they have cut my connection and they were unable to re-establish it. Worse, when I call them they keep saying everytime that It will be fixed during the next 24 hours. I had the same response during 1 month.

Ive had tiscali for about 2-3 years, and they were fine until about 4 months ago. Since then i havent been able to play online games during peak hours which is for me between around 6pm to 10:45pm. Ive seeked help and i keep getting asked the same questions, in my opinion go with another provider atleast for now, just look up on the internet "tiscali peak times" and you will see the amount of problems Good luck :)

Absolutely appalling. Get thrown off the net all the time! They're also saying I've not paid a bill and I've sent a a copy of my statement, direct debit printout etc showing I have. Now they're saying they're taking me to court!!! Terrible customer service - if the problem isn't in a list of things they have in front of them, they can't help. Also meant to receive Member Rewards each month, depsite emailing 3 times and phoning, I'm still not getting them. Avoid them like the plague!!

I wouldny recommend you to touch Tiscali with a bargepole. After numerous problems resulting in the cancellation of broadband with them it took them three months to remove their tag from my phone line. Their customer service is next to non existant, I have experienced little but incompetence when dealing with them.

Simple dont go there, they are awful, I`m supposed to have broadband max, no better than dial up at times, and I too am restricted from 5pm to 11pm on game sites, messengers and downloading. Currently in dispute with them over service, or lack of it, customer service is dreadful. I am only now getting a response because I complained to the ISPA about them, meant to be being moved from Ipstream to LLU on 8th of march, will see what happens, if nothing improves I`m off to another ISP as they have not kept to contract and I have been told I will be free to go with no penalties, if they cant sort out problems. I have to admit, secretly hoping they cant sort problems out so I can go elswhere.

i have been with tiscali now 4 months, and i had nothing more then trouble, they maybe ok if u are low user, but thats about it. costumer service is full of unproffesional, they don't even know their own term and cond. example my speed shut be 8 mb, and i'am getting last 2 weeks speed around 80kb!!!!!!! tiscali full rubbish.

Been with tiscali for 18 months now had some problems at end of summer 2006, mainly slow downloads and did start to think to myself if i should move to bt as they were offering 8 meg so asked for mac codes and got them emailed within 3 days , not bad and then hey presto broadband speeds seemed to go lightning fast so im sticking around with tiscali for a while , downloaded from twocows about 30 mins ago and got a constant 248kbps download speed on a 135meg programme not bad , so still here and happy with tiscali, ps the other thing i like with tiscali is that when they do price changes e.g. price drops for same service you can downgrade to save pennys not something you can do on bt. lastly the thompson speed touch 330 modem tiscali supply works ok but if you replace this with a NAT enabled router its quicker and you can turn off your firewall. hope this helps.

i am on Tiscali broadband max . it could not get any worse! absolute rubbish! if i am lucky i get 250 KB speed, on some days i do not get any at all. Claims of unlimited downloads are false, i was downloading movies and Tiscali put limits on my account so from 6pm till 11pm it was impossible to use broadband at all! Customer service is incompetent and unhelpful in some occasions even rude! recently i have changed address and tried to connect my broad band in new address 15 working days later no service at all and customer service told me that i have to wait another 15 days. I have 4 friends who is with tiscali as well and they not happy with Tiscali as well my word is DO NOT EVEN THIK ABOUT SIGNIN WITH TISCALY ABSOLUTE DISASTER!!!!

All i can say is dont get tiscali broadband if this helps other people ill be happy. I was with them 18months and i had suffered slow speeds for 3 months so i complained to there tech department at least 25 times each time i was asked the same questions and the problem was not sorted they even offered to get there top tech men on the job which never seem to happen, in the end i decided to cancel my contract (how easy should that have been) anyway i canceled it 3 times and each time they never canceled it. First of all i had to wait for a tag on my line to be removed after finally they cancled my account for me on my 4th attempt to do this. i rang them up and they kept saying it was canceled and it was on for 6 weeks after the date it should have been canceled from i acctually thought i was going to be unable to cancel them at one point keep well away from them.

I had no problems with tiscali until i started to play on line poker games. Constent problems connecting to the sites. So while all my mates sitting playing at peak times i was left sitting all night trying to connect. When i rang up and made enquiries as to what the problem was i was told to play my games at off peak times!! I will be requesting my MAC and leaving ASAP

Ive been with Tiscali for 2 months now, first few weeks no problem. Now im having constant trouble tring to connect, the page crashes with "not responding" on the tool bar. When you ring customer service after holding for a lifetime they then transfer you to someone else whilst holding once again the voice says "call back later" then hangs up the line! They treat you like your stupid because you have to explain your problem once again which is really frustrating. the only line you dont have to hold is the payment line, they are very happy to take our money of of us! Now because i want to change my Broadband provider the want £180 off me. For what?! Well im suprised i was able to stay online long enough to write this with out it diconecting. To cut a long story short DONT GO WITH TISCALI!

First six months was great, no connection problems and able to run the service for weeks without it going down. After, recieving a letter about some work being done with BT and that thes ervice may be 'temporarily' affected I have had nothing but connection problems. Have to re-start my router at least three times a week. I had checked all my settings against against Tiscali's recommendations but still no joy. Even after reporting the problem and being told the problem was fixed, my connection went down after a day. Customer servivces have generally been ok, but at the end of the day the actual service is not reliable. It's up to you whether you go with Tiscali, but if you want service reliability try anywhere else.

Avoid at all costs!!! Customer service is shabby, patronising & the service is Mega-poor & thats only if you get some one(after30mins) that understands a word of un-broken english. They maybe cheap but believe me and everyone else KEEP AWAY. I'm paying way over the top for my new broadband but at least it works & the support is exellent when needed. This bunch of cowboys nearly cost me my business. Keep well away! You have been warned

I agree with the other reviews. tiscali are absolutely abysmal, currently trying to find new provider . My son plays xbox live and he is pulling his hair out because of the slow speeds. he is constantly complaining of lagging out of games. Roll on finding a decent provider!!!!!

Hi was previously with Talktalk and they didnt give me the credit that was due from recommend a friend. I cancelled as per their instructions but it was another 6 months before they realized that I didnt want it anymore and billing stopped sending me letters. Anyway my work had been on Tiscali Broadband for year or two and I was very happy with that. so I signed up to their 1MB. Havent had any trouble, indeed when 2MB was available on my line they changed it over vrery quickly. I've found they answer the phone very quickly service is polite and they can answer my questions in one call. Dont know if I've been very lucky but I do know others who have had no problem either

Tiscali support is appalling. Having had a 2 MB connection for 14 months, it took them nearly 6 weeks to reconnect at my new house when I moved - despite having informed them of the new number and address at least 2 weeks before moving. Additionally, since arriving in my new address, I have had numerous problems with my connection which the suport (there's a laugh) team have either blamed me or the BT line or the line in the wall of my house!!! I am currently paying for a 2 MB connection but getting only 400K!! However, as many customers have found, trying to call there support (sorry I'm sniggering again) line is very expensive as my average wait has been 25 mins. A disaster - dont go there. I am looking for something else even if it is more expensive.

Avoid at all costs they are really rubbish - I almost tore my hair out with dropped connections the whole time. Switched to an alternative and ahhhhhhh all problems solved. What a relief to have proper broadband again! Tiscali customer service is absolutely appalling my wife told me not to call them as every time I did I got in a rage at how hopeless they were and how they just didn’t care.. Please do not use Tiscali you will regret it and your life is just too short. They really are idiots! Honestly use anyone but them. Cancelling has actually taken me a month as everytime I spoke to someone they told me anything to stop me cancelling. One of their agents promised me a package which did not even exist to stop me cancelling! They really treat customers badly trust me your klife is too short do not go near Tiscali!!!

I've had an absolute disaster with tiscali...they mucked up an order, finally agreed to cancel and then left a 'tag' on the line (which 2 months down the line is still there) meaning that no one else can provision broadband. I hear from OFCOM that they are now under investigation for anti-competitive practices such as this.

Generally, their broadband service has been reliable, and at £19.99 per month to include all land line phone calls, its good value. However, when we moved house they were unbelievably inefficient at transferring our service. It took a month.Their ability to communicate with a dissatisfied customer is appalling.

I've been with tiscali for 2 years odds now and they have been ok until i moved house, they told me i wouldn't be able to recieve the Tiscali MAX package although all online research suggests otherwise, and when i was living with my parents i was on their 2MB package, now i have moved out and my mum wanted what i had all of a sudden the line can only support 1MB, LOSERS!! if i can find another provider that cheap i am changing, if not gonna have a right good gripe on the phone tomorrow and see what i can get then :D

Tiscali is fine when it works but as soon as you have a problem, its a nightmare. My broadband stopped working and Tiscali insisted that there was no problem. Then, after I had bought another router, they admitted that there was a problem with their equipment but expected me to call an 0870 number to troubleshoot it. Only problem was, I was kept on hold for indeterminite lengths of time. Their Technical help is very poor with the people repeatedly misunderstanding problems and even when you want to cancel it is nigh on impossible to get anyone to answer the phone. They also take up to 1 month to answer any written correspondance. I dont yet know if, now I have managed to cancel, they will leave any markers on the line but I'm expecting it to happen. In summary - appallingly poor customer service. Avoid like the plague.

You get what you pay for with tiscali, i pay 12.99 for 1meg (max i can get) broadband which by far the cheapest around, considering its virtually unlimited, well as long as you dont dowload between 6-11pm. The main problem is the customer sevice, completely incompetent and often very patronizing, and its not free btw. But basically i choose to accept this as im on a tight budget, and that extra £5-10 i save each month is the only reason why i, and i think most others stay, until tiscali become uncompetitive in the price or speed department, i shall remail a loyal customer (while still chacking out the alternatives).
