After gathering thousands of survey responses, tens of thousands of speed test scores and the opinions of a panel of expert judges, the results of the Broadband Genie Home Broadband Survey 2013 are in.

At Broadband Genie we're proud of our commitment to editorial independence and position as a consumer champion, something which is reflected in the 2013 Home Broadband Survey where to avoid any accusations of bias our results come from a variety of sources.

As well as presenting a picture of home broadband usage throughout the UK, the Home Broadband Survey includes five awards judged in three different ways: a survey of 3,000 broadband users conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Broadband Genie, voting by a panel of experts, and the results of our home broadband speed test to find the Fastest Broadband Provider.

Overall, top honours went to Plusnet, which garnered the award for Best Broadband Provider. In our survey Plusnet had the highest scores across all categories, with the best ratings for speed satisfaction, customer and technical support and reliability.

Additionally, Plusnet won Best Budget Broadband, a category selected by our panel of industry experts and insiders. Our judges also voted on the categories of Most Innovative Broadband - awarded to gigabit fibre ISP Hyperoptic - and Best Bundled Broadband, which was won by Sky.
