About 3 Mobile

As an alternative to fixed-line home broadband, you could consider mobile broadband from 3 Mobile. Basically, you get a 3G dongle which plugs into your laptop and you can access broadband internet wirelessly from just about anywhere in the UK (your house, on the train, in a pub, etc.). The major upside is the lack of wires and hassle, which - for many people - will more than make up for the slightly lower speeds. 3 Mobile's prices compare favourably against ADSL or cable broadband too, so it may be worth considering.

You can find all the info on 3 Mobile's mobile broadband packages on the new mobile broadband comparison site from Broadband Genie.

This network keep saying they're upgrading but it doesn't get any better! The upgrade work is said to be completed but I am still only geting a one bar signal and very slow speed. I wish I never signed up to this very poor service. Their customer service phone line is a joke Report abuse

Was reasonably happy with this service, as worked although slow.. but since 1st January 2010 I connect as normal, see good signal strength but cannot load ANY website. Have been on the phone with technical department over 3 hours to no resolve. I would be sent a new modem.. seen nothing as yet (3 weeks ago). Went to shop that also does not want to give me a new modem. If I wasnt so angry I would laugh! The Indian call center is kind but doesn't achieve to be helpful at all. Very strongly advice against using this company-they clearly are in problems. Report abuse

Mobile Internet cannot replace ADSL. It is slow, it connects when it wants to and the line drops all the time. It is a nice additional thing to have if you want to spend the money on this nicety. Report abuse
