Due to continuous problems with billing arrangements I terminated the service with Bulldog(Pipex Limited) almost 3 years ago. (I used to end up literally phoning them to take my money, and they still messed up).
Now after all this time elapsed I got a letter last week from a debt collection agency demanding payment. I wrote politely back to the agency stating all the facts and proved to them that Pipex was incompetent and they were the cause of the problems. They have wrote back to say they are no longer pursuing the payment.
I had problems right from start, in trying to get a connection Then, trying to resolve a faulty line which they had problems trouble-shooting. Then finally the billing problem which lasted about 6 months before I ended my contract with these clowns. AVOID THEM if you can at all costs( if they still exist) and keep record of all your transactions.

So Bulldog - wouldn't touch them with barge pole! they were great up until 6 months ago, 4 outages now..shortest being 4 days longest 19 days - zero intelligence customer support people, you get passed from department to department and everytime told to wait from 2-48hrs..for a response which you never get... absolutely s**t when something goes wrong, which is now a regular event.

They disconnected my service "by mistake" 16 hours on the phone, carried on taking my money even when I had no line, difficult to communicate with these monkeys!

THis is a horrendous company. When i shifted house i was charged for two accounts at both new and old house although the proper proceedure was followed. It is now more then 12 months since and i have still not received my money back. The matter is now in adjudication.

DON'T CONNECT TO BULLDOG!! I have been with them for 3 years, at first when you want to upgrade or anything like that it would be fast but when there's a problem it would take ages!! and they keep passing you to different departments making you call over and over again and your being charged for the calls. Not just that I have asked for a diconnect from them and was told I have been sign to a New 12 month contract?? huh? when? so they won't let me disconnect until recently and still took up to 7weeks and when they did do it and what happens they cut me whole phone line off which was with BT and I had to call BT to fix it. Even now after diconnection I'm recieving threatening letters to pay for a bill I'm not even using! + the connection is really bad i was told I should recieve 8mg but all I got was 1mg the whole time!! so glad I'm not with them anymore. WORSE COMPANY EVER!!

I was with Bulldog for 15 Months. The speed was great... Customer Service and Tech Support were about as much help as a Chocolate Sun Dial.

Bulldog "were" great on cost... now there are lots of Cheap, No-Frills Broadband companies. Don't punish yourself by going with them.

At first Bulldog were great, they went out of their way to help you when you had a problem but that all changed last year when they were taken over. They cut our services and when we rang them to find out why, customer services told us that our bill hadn't been paid in months despite a direct debit being set up with our bank. It emerged they had lost a number of their customers details including ours when they had upgraded their computer systems. They didn't offer an apology to us but they demanded immediate payment before they'd reinstate our services. We set up a new direct debit but they have constantly failed to use it, instead preferring to send us monthly bills. This was the first in a series of incidents. We recently contacted them over our email account as we were having problems logging in, in kept telling us that our user name and password were not recognized. They have not really resolved this but they did give us a default user name and password which we are still using.

!!Warning!! This is a horrendous company!!
took them 3 week after my connection date to get connected kept saying the fault was at my end and every time I phone them (after eventually getting throw) it was the same old thing "try a new connection" I had about 11 new connections in my network places ,and the fault was with them in the end. They never phone u back u have to chase them. there technical support are utterly useless, they all read from the card they are given for when u phone them no training and u are lucky if u get someone that speaks English u can understand. There technician are just as bad 1 said "u need Q.O.S. (quality of service) installed that y u can't connect... There billing department are in Molter with only e-mails to contact the rest of the company that's in the UK. They forget to take there own payment and then take all the money in 1 lump sum witch can make overdraw in the bank then receive the bank charge 4 being over draw!!
    Bulldog... Should be called B@*l?!##t

Although it would be difficult to find a truly unlimited 16Mb service including line rental for under £35, the quality of the network and service are extremely poor, so you get what you pay for. Frequent disconnections and drops in speed come as standard, no matter what router you are using (check the message boards). Although downloading individual large files can be quite quick, the same cannot be said for simple internet browsing. Sometimes the pages come up straight away, but often they don't and you need to keep clicking away or refreshing the page. This is due to the way Bulldog's network has been structured and is here to stay. So stay away unless you're a masochist.

Whilest the Bulldog broadband & phone service is generally pretty reliable/cheap (after you take into account phone line prices), the technical support when things do go wrong is pretty terrible. Long wait times and support operators who don't know what they're are doing are quite common.

Apparently they have done things to improve this since they were taken over last year, but it's definitely been slow progress!
