My impression of this cowboy outfit is they are not fit for purpose. Some 4 years ago I would say they were the best. In the last year the service has deteriorated so much it's worth changing to someone else.
We have tracked ourdownload speeds for months. They have varied from 840 to 179. F2S say there's no fluctuation. They also say that our house has moved 2K further away from the exchange! When asking for conversation with managers, they're always in meetings or at lunch. They even break their own code of conduct. My overall rating is ZERO, with the specifics at less than that. -

I signed up with f2s right at the start. Since then I have stuck with them through thick and thin takeovers and all.
Tonight my broadband speed is .28 Download and only .08 Upload. This is shocking. This has happened recently, and I have raised a ticket. I received an email telling me to check all my hardware and telephone connections. I have not changed anything for the past 3 years, and it was all fine up to last month. I told them this. But no, they were hedging.
I am so sad. Because my contract runs out in 2 weeks, and I have been given no reason to stick with them now. No customer service, no honesty. That is the hardest to swallow. -

I concur with the above comments - F2S were absolutely amazing when I first got my parents/family on them (a number of years ago now). I was referred by a friend - after numerous problems with BT and Tiscali, he found that they were honest, happy to help in any way they could...and cheap! No extra bundled stuff you don't want *cough bt*...just straight up internet!
[time passes]
Since then, its been less than pretty...my internet connection has become intermittent in the last 2-3 years (roughly coinciding with tiscali/pipex getting their oar in I guess), often requiring 5 or 6 restarts of my router (tested on another line, perfect performance) every EVENING (as am usually out during the day, but requiring restarts from parents too) to re-establish connection...which is still dodgy as it is. My connection has always been slower than top - I wasn't expecting any less seeing as tiscali wouldn't even consider an "amber line" connection until we'd parted with the cash, and then they didn't even know if we could get the service. But I find 3.2 quite acceptable, as it doesn't change.
Recently, we've had the green box at the end of our road (and the surrounding wires) dug up and messed around with at least twice in the past 6 months, has it helped? Ehhh...no!
Having said that, the line has righted itself somehow, and seems to be fine.
However... I have friends on F2S and have needed to contact them recently for the same problems...I was horrified to find out that the helpful staff had been replaced by a s*dd*ng robot! (well...digitised prerecorded voice) with less-than-helpful options...and it costs you to wait call and wait in line. Great! They don't tell you when the email servers are getting outed, or if there are any problems...if you're lucky and remember, you could check out the relatively recent addition of RSS feeds for their various services, but it would be nice if they just had an automated email, seeing as you pay for this privilege I feel, especially as they have your contact details and all!
So...IF the service works, its great...just don't expect wonders from their customer service anymore...they've been tainted by the ways of Tiscali! If you're looking for a cheap unltd. connection to put on a line that has little trouble, try F2S (and say that I referred you if you wish (wickens) =P, but if you know or suspect that you might have line trouble occasionally, I'd suggest going with a smaller company with a better rep for customer service - whilst you may have the same connection problems regardless, at least with a smaller company the customer service is likely to be more personal and a damn sight more helpful!
