Free email service and pop forwarding etc, but the servers have been down 95% of the time since trying to change about 2 weeks ago. Lets hope they fix it so I can read all my Xmas messages (unless I just haven't got any this year) :)

Horrendous broadband service, I'm paying for .5mb, but speedchecker, when it works at all never reads more than 56kbs, which is what I used to get on dial up when God was a boy. If I ring them, they tell me the service is working perfectly, despite getting frequent dead stops in the service 'and 'can't find the server at www.google.com' messages. They're not cheap, even after bribing me to stay with loyalty discounts. Rubbish service doesn't get better by making it cheaper. I'm going to let BT have a go.

Absolutely horrendous customer service. If problem is remotely complex they put you back to menu and you go round and round and get absolutely nowhere.Clearly no management or supervision and no one interested in customer service.Dreadful. Much better service with Tiscali. This is disgusting. AVOID!

Fantastic service from onetel! The customer service team are polite and helpful. I last spoke to a delightful young gentleman named willie who immediatley knew the nature of my problem and resolved it within minute of taking my call. No complaints whatsoever, absolutely fantastic!! The other major bonus is that the customer service team are all based in the UK, in a town named stornoway! I'm that impressed i am taking a visit to the island later this year!

    Onetel aka TalkTalk

Yes almost 5 days without broadband add bank holiday = 8 and counting up.

When you ring their support number 0845 818 8000 they may give you their status line number 0800 957 0564, and all you get is:
"We are still experiencing Internet problems we will update the message at ..."

They don't tell you what exactly the problem is - is it switch? server/s? cable level? Exchange level? - no information!!

    TOTAL FRUSTATION

Best to move to another ISP provider provided they remove the "TAG" from ones phone line

Does TalkTalk (ex Car-phone warehouse) believe in proper customer service relation? Rubbish!

absolutely disgusted with one tel, the whole of its customers have been without internet for 3 days, its also bank holiday, so all in all 6 days. My monthly bill is circa £35 a month, all the helpline says is our engineers are working on this for a quick resolve. I say sack the engineers if this is their knowledge in IT. I work from home and have lost 3 days wages, will they compensate me? No, after 10 years of being with them, the best they can offer is a reduction to my bill, to £12.99,plus vat, plus calls @ £4.99 saving me approx £5 a month. Strange when theyre offering new customers a starting package @ £6.99. to worsen my frustration noone will take calls as they no doubt are inundated, for me to retrieve my mac number to switch service providers. With the competition out there, only fools would take their custom to one tel. Their staff are unprofessional, no doubt due to pay conditions, not their fault. If this is how one tel treat their customers, their staff would be right not to be enthusiastic about the company.

Onetel where do i start the worst ISP ever issue number one their internets decides when it wants to give you the speed you paid for i understand at peak hours it may be slow but off peak hours generally all day for about 2 weeks i had a slow service with speeds averaging around 0.2-0.3 Mbps when i have paid for 2Mbps. second issue they offer a terrible customer service before they ever recognise the problem is with their part of the network they blame everyone else from BT, your modem manufacturer and your Firewall. the third problem is theri customer service is the worst ever if their not half way across the world then they dont know anything to do with computers or networks and are constanly refering you to another department.

I am giving up on Onetel after many years of unreliable service culminating in them not taking payment from my bank account and then blocking my telephone and email because of their errors.
On informing them that I am cancelling the service they are putting up the prices for the last month by removing any reductions earned over many years. Currently I cannot use my email service because it has been overwhelmed by spam through their inefficient fillering and I am told by them that it will be put right at the end of September.THE CHARGES FOR THE SERVICE ARE NOT SUSPENDED.
Nivek has said that you get what you pay for --- I WISH!

Onetel have been very poor indeed with customer relations and badly organised. A fault took 2 weeks or more to fix after they initially blamed BT. Staff sometimes hard to understand. One helper very rude to me on one occasion. I informed them I was ending my contract but was still billed. Though they admitted error it took a lot of letter-writing and telephoning to get a refund. They would not recompense me for costs of postage and phone calls, even though they caused the problem in the first place. Nightmare company in my view and glad to have got rid. They sell hard and with low prices but you get what you pay for.

Not impressed. Recently had a lot of trouble with broadband and landline and very little help from the very nice technical people. Will be changing both.

used to be great a couple of years ago but loss of service each month for a couple of days at a time and now without service since 3rd jan 07. Tried to cancel but they still kept marker online so i can't get another service. BT wholesale guy said lots of complaints with this company not cancelling broadband yet they tell you repeatedly it's been done. TERRIBLE!!
