About Pipex Business

Pipex Business offers a business broadband service with or without voice minutes. We currently include 5000 geo landline minutes a month. Not taking the voice package will not affect the price. Set up is free if migrating, or a £40 charge if broadband is currently not active on the line. We do not include routers as part of the package, but they can be ordered if required for £34.03 + VAT. When service on our LLU is available, all products are provisioned onto the ADSL2+ network at the fastest speed supported by their line conditions as per usual. If ADSL2+ is not available, then the ADSL MAX Up to 8Mb service will be offered. On the Pro and Premium Plus products, Pipex can offer Enhanced Upstream (EU) at no extra cost. This allows the user to allocate more of their bandwidth to the upstream. In optimal conditions, upstream will reach speeds of up to 2.5Mbps as to the standard up to 1Mbps. Please note that although enhanced upstream when available comes at no extra cost, although the set up fee for broadband on a new line is £80.

    I went for the Pro package bought direct from pipex-broadband.net .

    Having got the free router I waited for my previous provider to make the transfer. Thankfully it was done overnight so I had no loss of service.

    The intructions for the Thomson TG855 were clear and conise so the set up was very simple even for me.

    Once online I was keen to try it out, I surfed for a while before downloading a number of larger files. Happily I noticed that the speed was much better.

    I also used a speed testing site over a few days to gauge how fast the download and upload averages.

    My line could manage upto 8meg , so I was happy to see an average of just over 6 and an upload average of about .8 .

    All in all I'm more than happy with the service so long may it continue.
