Tiscali customer since 2005. TalkTalk have taken over and are "upgrading" my broadband service ..... so what had worked perfectly well for over 5 years has been unavailable since 10th January as I am seemingly being "migrated" to a better service. Not given advance notice that I was going to be disconnected, and ten phone calls later still being kept in the dark about when (if ever) my broadband service will be reconnected.
Other people in this area are suffering from the same "SOD THE CUSTOMERS" service standard that drives people to find an alternative supplier.

I had Tiscali for 5 years no problem at all. Fibreoptic connection became available so wanted to add tv package - complete nightmare. Talktalk reps would hang up when you told them you were Tiscali. The info they did give was directly contraditory with advice in the same discussion thread. Eventually found a tel number for tiscali and spoke to a uk based rep she was a star. Hinted that talktalk dont speak to them at all and dont know their systems. Had to go to Virgin to get tv. Talktalk may have this service sometime next year !! a muppet show.

I have been unable to upload to my web space for over 1 week now and have had no helpful replies from tiscali / talk talk. I have sent several emails and have made several phone calls, ususally having to wait over 10 minutes to talk to someone, then often being put on hold and left on hold. Only after asking for my MAC code could I talk to someone who gave me a different techincal support number (which isn't available on their website), they also offered no suggestions that I haven't tried already. A friend is now hosting my web site for me, and would NEVER recommend using talk talk, their techincal support is virtually non existent. Also they keep taking my direct debit out early before I get paid. I am considering moving to Madasafish or BT at present.

Some time ago I left TalkTalk because their service was total S**t
Then I joined Tiscali with an Unlimited download service
There were a few rocky patches along the way but largely I did have unlimited downloads
then a while ago TalkTalk took over Tiscali and the service has gone totally down the tubes
Over the last few weeks downloading has been virtually impossible
The fair usage policy always clearly stated that heavy users might have their bandwidth managed during peak hours which are from 6:00pm til 11:00pm
and that outside these hours the service would be completely unaffected

I could live with this but since TalkTalk took over bandwith is being affected outside peak hours
this is therefor limiting how much can be downloaded
Since my contract is for unlimited downloads as far as I am concerned TalkTalk are therefor in breach of contract
The industry regulators have confirmed that TalkTalk are acting unlawfully but will not act as they say they are unable to get involved in individual cases
So the regulators have said TalkTalk are breaking the law and may continue to break the law as much as they please
I have to wonder who got a financial thankyou to look the other way

My monthly credith card charge has just been brought forward by two weeks without any notification, this will mean I lose two weeks usage.
Agee with others that system is slow and to ring Talk Talk about my account will cost me 10p per minute.

been with tiscali for years no problems talk talk comes on the scene and its chaos. Apparently can't even provide me with caller display. If anyone is considering changing to talk talk do yourself a favour and DONT.

Don't with Tiscali, this is the strong message that I would like to inform everyone who is going to switch to TalkTalk/Tiscali! Even those ones with them, I suggest you leave them as early as you can to avoid unhappy things to happen!!!

I have been with them for a couple of years, and what I have got from them is unhappiness!!! Recently my broadband suddenly got a problem, and I have found out there is no internet signal been sent to my house for unknow reasons. I have been struggling with them for solving the problem since two weeks ago. So far, I have have to make phone call nearly every day to have the problem solved (the phone bill has already been pile up!). Each time they told me they will send an engineer to have the problem solved. They have scheduled an engineer to visit me 2 times, but so far, at the 2 scheduled times, their engineer never show up - they even didn't bother to give me a call to explain why the engineer was not able to come! - just a big big lie! I am at the moment waiting for the 3rd scheduled engineer visit to happen at this evening??? I need to keep my fingure crossed.

I really don't know what I should do with this company, but give you my strong advice please keep away from this company to avoid unnecessary frustration!

Been with tiscali for a long time, Talk Talk arrives and the promised line and speed upgrade did not take place, now they want me to change package for a poorer service?
I am sitting in front of the computer checking the net and it is at a snails pace?

Time for a change I think?

I have been with Tiscali From the begining. I never received any rebate from Talk Talk.
But I have been finding my E-Mails are slower than a Snail on a crawl. Need to change. ASAP.

I am another ex Tiscali now Talk Talk user who is unhappy with service and costs escalating so soon with various charges each month. When I requested I change my package I was told we HAD to change our phone no. too which we have had for 32 years - no previous company has said this!!! I am also a member of WHICH who are surprised at the way this has been handled. Talk Talk phoned me last week and left a message but when I tried to return the call I could not do so so when will they call back again -------as promised? I am seriously thinking of going elsewhere now - perhaps we should all do so.

I agreed a contract with Tiscali on Nov 2009 for a broadband service for 18 months at £7.99 per month.A week ago I received a letter from Talk Talk informing me that my broadband is to be increased to £14.99 per month. OUTRAGEOUS!

Well I prefered Tiscali. they did however promise for the ex customers to remain onthe same price band and package. But now I see they have added VAT to package that already included VAT. and my bills are never the same, also for the last 2 months they have not charged me line rental. so who's to blame thier then

Any modems or routers were part of your contract . Therefore you have already paid for them . You do not have to take any action other than to dump them . They would have been onto you if they thought you had something of theirs .

Yes, I agree - all very confusing. We were with Tiscali, which is now TalkTalk, but at least after a while, we did receive a refund from Talk Talk (about £20 if I remember correctly). But what happens to the modem which was supplied by Tiscali? I guess it is still their property so do we have to return it?? And if we don't do we get jumped on?? Can anyone enlighten me? E Payne

With reference to Debbie Saunt's review, I have had a rude and pushy salesman trying to get me to switch from Tiscali to Talk Talk. I'd been on their website and had put in my phone number to see what kind of service they could offer me. Apparently (it's in the small print), once you put in your phone number you agree to them calling you. Very, very pushy and rude. Stuff them them! I'm staying with Tiscali just to see what they'll do!! It's a better deal anyway.

Well I'm not so sure as to who owns which parts of Tiscali as talk talk were doing the hard sell yesterday 3/5/10 for the talk package and to the point of being real rude and pushy...We have the whole package with Tiscali phone, line rental and broadband so why are they trying to just sell us the phone deal and didnt seem bothered if it would effect our broadband price ....Not happy at all

I reckon those of you who stuck with Tiscali /TT have more courage than me . As soon as I got my letter informing me of the changes I was off with a MAC and on to BT where for £ 7 less I have a very respectable 7mbps speed which exceeds what is theoretically possible on my line . Talktalk are pure poison from what I have read .

Been with Tiscali for 5 years and never had any problems apart from being slow at peak times. Never had a reason to phone customer support. Was not happy at the increased price and 40Gb cap since the move to Talk Talk

I am sorry to hear that Tiscali has been taken over by TalkTalk. I have been with Tiscali for two years and have never had a problem. No disconnections, and broadband has always been at the promised 1Mb. I do hope that this level of service will continue under TalkTalk.

I sent Tiscali a check and it went missing it took them several months to track it down with me having to go to the bank on numerous occasions to get prove . I think the biggest problem is you cannot understand the advisors on the tiscali lines. I am now going to change to a different company.

I have never dealt with a company as bad as Tiscali. They should not exist. My recorded delivery letters to various managers and emails to the CEO were ignored. I had a 100 page complaint dossier and was about to take Tiscali to court and emailed that fact to the MD. Eventually I was contacted by a member of staff who painfully sorted out my exit as I could not even get my Mac code. On one occasion for example I was asked to repeat my name, address, dob, and security details 25 times yes 25 times. When asking to speak with the supervisor I would be asked to repeat all the details again or I would not be put through, and on, and on...The staff were playing games like children and I had to pay for that when the connection was rarely working and I was using the internet bureau facilities. This was a while back prior to being taken over but I do not see how they would have become professional overnight. I now use the services of Zen and no longer have grief and can only recommend them highly. Zen could not be any better. Tiscali seriously punished me for being a customer. TISCALI NEVER AGAIN.
