Guide to broadband deals
Most Internet Service Providers have their core subscription packages that you can sign up to throughout the year. Some stand the test of time and form the ISP's main offering whilst others come and go according to a particular service or feature that the broadband provider may want to promote for a limited time only.
Broadband Genie keeps close tabs on all the latest broadband deals so you don’t have to. By browsing down our broadband deals list you can quickly see whether there are any hot offers that could tempt you.
Most broadband deals are set up to encourage users to sign up quickly and subsequently many of them have an expiry date. When an ‘offer ends’ date is applicable this is added to Broadband Genie’s ‘broadband deals’ page just underneath the price section.
Broadband deals are generally set up to be based around an existing package, but sometimes a deal is offered that’s completely unique. On the far left hand side of the list the provider’s logo helps you see who’s offering the deal and for which package.
Getting a good price with your broadband deals
Price is something to be extra careful of when signing up to a limited time only deal. Sometimes there is an introductory price that’s significantly cheaper than the amount you will pay every month for the rest of the subscription duration. All offers listed on the Broadband Genie broadband deals pages show the starting price you will pay when you sign up. However, it is very important to take note of the small print underneath. The small print tells you whether there will be a price increase at any time, or if there is an extra offer open to certain customers (for example, if you are already signed up to provider for another service, like TV or Mobile Phone). Although the price can look like a real bargain if you’re looking at the cheaper introductory offer always make sure you are certain you can keep up with payments when they increase for the whole duration of the contract.
Similarly, you should also check to see whether or not you are responsible for paying for set-up costs. Quite a lot of the set-up costs are thrown in for free, but it’s quite common to have to pay this if you are setting up a package that includes a phone line.
Understanding important details with broadband deals
As with any broadband contract it’s essential to think about what you will be using your broadband line for. The price may seem great, and the extras a generous bonus, but if the speed is too slow or the download limit too restrictive, you could find yourself in for a frustrating 12 or 18 months.
Researching the broadband providers
New and particularly attractive broadband deals may make you consider signing up to a provider that you know very little about, and have had no experience dealing with them in the past. Using the Broadband Genie broadband deals list it is very easy to read up on each provider and check out what other customers have to say about their experience with the package or the ISP. Using these public reviews as a basis each offer is given a star rating out of five. However, click on the ‘reviews’ link under each star and you can take a good look through both the favourable and critical reviews to give you better judgement on your decision.
Remember, broadband deals change all the time, so if you are heading towards the end of your current contract or are thinking about switching providers it can pay to check back here regularly!
