Hi I bought a wifi iPad 2 only just recently but i would like to get a mobile dongle for home and on the move, does a mobile dongle only provide wifi for the computer it is plugged into or would it work for an iPad 2 device as well?

By default a standard mobile broadband dongle will only provide internet access for the system to which it is connected but Mac OS X can share an internet connection - there are instructions on Apple's site.

Another method would be to use a mobile broadband router, which uses a dongle plugged into the back to share connectivity over wired or wireless connections, or something like the 3 MiFi which shares the connection to anything in the vicinity with a Wi-Fi signal.

The Go Baby Mobile dongle dock would be an excellent solution to your problem, simply connect your dongle to the docking station to create your own Wi-Fi hotspot. Now you can connect up to 5 devices to the same Wi-Fi network and save on data fees.
