I have tested my broadband speed on many different sites including this one. My results were very much similar at a download speed of 4.5mbpd and a upload speed at 0.65mbps. Is that fast because when I have been downloading my things it takes a long time?

    Hi Fraser,

A download speed of around 4.5Mb is pretty standard for someone on an ADSL broadband line. However, if you were on fiber or even an ADSL2+ connection this would seem slow. Perhaps you could give us your postcode and we can check for you?

As for downloads, if the speeds are genuinely problematic there may be ways to improve your lot, even if you can only get an ADSL line. These can be expensive (such as bonded DSL, which may cost £100 per moth) but can certainly solve the problem.
