I want pay as you go mobile broadband for my laptop but it will only be used very occasionaly so if i sign up to recieve it will i be charged every month even if i havent used all of my previous months allowance? Most of the deals I've looked at seem to be based on a monthly payment which strikes me as not really being pay as you go and more like a monthly contract but theres little information to clarify this, can you help?

Report abuseMobile broadband PAYG is nothing more than a con where we are sold something that has a clock running against it. So you buy a GB of data, can’t get a connection where you want to use it and hey presto that’s your money gone.
Even Del boy can’t get away with a con like that yet our mobile networks do it day in and day out.
My solution to this rip off was to buy a 3 network data sims card that last a year or until you’ve used up the 12Gb allowance which cost me £54 but you have to search around for the cheapest deal and there not always available at that sort of price.
Failing that I think T-Mobile (everything everywhere ) and o2 do dongles where you can pay by the day so at least you only lose a small amount of money should you not use it for a couple of months.
Just one more suggestion and that is PAYG GiffGaff where you can buy your data when you need it and you vary the amount of data you buy. Only downside to GG and that is they use the o2 network which can be dismal in some places on 3G but then again, so can the others.
