Resolving split line issues

    Years ago BT provided me with a split line: one line to the house but with two telephone numbers. (One for a fax / computer and the other for telephone use.

    I am now a talktalk customer for both number but find that I am now paying line rental to both BT and talktalk.

    Neither BT not talktalk have shown the slightest interest in reviewing the situation.

    Is the situation capable of being resolved (i.e. paying only one line rental) and what might the solution be? I'd like to keep both numbers.
