I have a Huawei E173s-1 dongle from a 3 month PAYG offer with T-Mobile.
I want to be able to use a different provider's sim card in the dongle. I've unlocked it using SBC.exe and I have tested out two mobile phone sim cards in the dongle. After both attempts, I've gotten the providers name to show, so it must be reading it, but I cannot access the internet.
Sim card 1: Vodafone PAYG phone
My settings:
Access Number: *99#
APN: pp.vodafone.co.uk
Username: web
Password: web
Sim card 2: Orange contract phone
Access Code: *99#
APN: orangeinternet (or consumerbroadband)
Username: left blank
Password: left blank
I'm still working with the T-mobile information panel. I'm not sure if it all needs to be cleared to work.
Anyone know the problem and how to solve it?

It doesn't matter what settings you enter (even if they are completely wrong) the providers name will show.
Are the APN settings you've entered specific to a mobile broadband SIM rather than a mobile phone SIM with data?
Like Broadband Genie?
