    Hi Malcolm,

First I would make sure that the village has mobile coverage - if it has no broadband, it may have no 3G mobile signal, which will scupper any attempts at a good broadband connection at all. Secondly, how long will you be staying? If it is going to be a regular destination, it may be worth looking into buying a French dongle, if you can get good reception - this may work out cheaper in the long run.

For further information, see our guide to using mobile broadband abroad. If this doesn't solve your problems, just give us some more details and we'll see what we can do.

Check out LeFrenchMobile. Provides PAYG SIMs, Phones & Dongles - French activation but all in English. Has anyone used this company / had any experience?
