    I have am thinking of getting rid of my home phone as I use it very little. costs more for the standing charge, would like to know if it would be cheaper to get a dongle. use the pc for pleasure only

    Hi Lynne,
    What do you do with your broadband connection? Depending on how much you use it you may be able to just use mobile broadband, but it can get expensive if your usage is high. You've also got to remember that mobile broadband is a fraction of the speed of a typical home broadband connection, so don't expect blazing fast speeds.

    An important thing to check before you do anything is that you can get a good 3G signal. Use these coverage checker tools to see coverage in your area:
    T-mobile
    Vodafone
    3
    Orange
    O2
    Virgin

    You would probably be better off with a dongle, and if you need Wi-Fi just get the dongle dock to create your own hotspot
