So basically, while I'm visiting the UK for 3 months, I would like to get a mobile broadband dongle for my laptop and use it for video calling friends back in the US using Skype. I noticed on Virgin Mobile's website FAQs that their mobile broadband does not support internet voice calling, but says nothing about internet video calling. Does anyone know if any mobile broadband service could/will support video calling using webcams? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi William,
You might want to try 3 mobile broadband. 3 is always boasting of its support for Skype and video calls so that would be the natural choice. The service is also fairly cheap to run, with top-ups from £10. Check out the latest PAYG mobile broadband deals at this link. 3 is currently offering a dongle for £39.99 with 3GB data included.

To get video calls working on mobile broadband you will need a good strong 3G signal so before buying anything it is vital that you check the network coverage of the area you're visiting using these online tools: T-mobile Vodafone 3 Orange O2 Virgin
