sony vaio and 3g mobile broadband

    I have tried installing 3g mobile broadband on my Sony Vaio fw11e laptop the software installed ok but when I tried to get on line I got notice to say "app crash" and I cannot get online .I tried it on friends laptop and it worked but not on mine.I uninstalled it and reloaded the software but no luck.Idisabled my firewall and took Bullguard of as well.I then spent 1 hour talking to tech. guy in India who did all sort of things but no help ,I have also done system restore to date before 3g installation.
    Any idea what is stopping the connection help appreciated.The laptop has no other software added by me as it is little used.Just Bullguard and Registry fix both uninstalled to see if they cause the problem.
    Help please.

    Hi ,thanks for your email, the laptop runs on Vista.
