Residents of Hampshire are pretty well off in terms of broadband connectivity. You can get all the major ADSL broadband providers (i.e. broadband down a BT telephone line), including fast 8Mb services if you happen to live close enough to your local telephone exchange. Virgin Media cable broadband and Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) providers such as Talk Talk, Sky and AOL are available in most areas.

On the 3rd April 2007, superfast 24Mb Be broadband was enabled in Winchester and the surrounding area, and will slowly be rolled out across the rest of the county over the next year or so.

You can find out exactly what broadband is available to you by using the free broadband availability checker at Broadband Genie. Click here for more information about Hampshire connectivity.
