Cable is an alternative way to hook up your entire in-house entertainment (i.e. broadband, telephone and TV) to the information superhighway.

From a user point of view, there is no real different to the more common approach (i.e. ADSL broadband, BT telephone line, and an aerial), except that an engineer has to drill a new hole in your wall for the cable connection.

The two cable companies, NTL and Telewest recently merged and now offer triple-play (i.e. broadband, TV and telephone bundled together in one package).

Homechoice also offers triple play (broadband, TV and telephone) but delivers it via a BT line.

Be aware that cable services are not available everywhere - only where your street has been dug up. Our search comparison tools will tell you if cable is available in your postcode. If you decide to go for cable, bear in mind that if you don't like it you will have to get a BT line re-installed before you can switch to an ADSL broadband provider.
