So dissapointed with the bt donngle, I have had this for some time and the service is very bleak. I travel a lot and require the net on the move. I find that even in towns, there is either non, or very slow service. In comapariaon in the same spot I have borrowed a T mobile donngle or '3' and got excelent service. The reason I went with you guys was that I was led to believe that your service was reliable. Come on BT, sort it out?!

About BT
Known for it's fixed line broadband, BT hasn't made great leaps into mobile broadband, instead concentrating on its Wi-Fi network to capture broadband users on the move.
BT does offer free mobile broadband (yes, we did say free mobile broadband) when you take out a 24-month contract on its Option 3 premium business-class broadband package. The words "premium" and "business class" might scare off bargain hunters, but actually it could work out as good value for money if you plan to have both fixed-line and mobile broadband connections.
Alternatively, business customers can pick up a dongle for around £15 per month on a separate two year contract. The dongle is free and there is a 3GB monthly6 allowance.
If a BT Business package is not your thing, BT Total Broadband (the consumer arm of the company) is also offering mobile broadband bundled with its broadband packages. This is a different dongle to what's on offer through BT Business, but a similarly fast up-to 7.2Mb speed. There's no monthly fee to pay for the mobile broadband, only a set up feee which ranges from £9.99 - £39.99 depending on which BT Total Broadband package you go for.

BT is sketchy at best. In two different offices in the centre of Edinburgh it's pot luck whether it will be acceptable or not. From mid-afternoon, it'll most likely be rubbish.

DO NOT GO WITH BT FOR MOBILE BROADBAND. I have never been so patronised, wronged or frustrated as the phone call I've just suffered having to make. I have an MF636 dongle on PAYG. I topped up £10 on December 17th and the following day, away from home for a few days, I looked at my e-mails online for 20 minutes - no attachments, no installations. Possibly 1MB of use. Then it stopped working, so I had to use an internet café and the next day bought a new dongle from 3G for £30 with 3GB of use (which I've now used for about 6 hours and used under 100MB of the 3GB). I phoned BT to complain and they told me I used it all. They said I used 40 units of 39p blocks in the 20 minutes I was on and refused to put me through to another department, explain, or refund, telling me it was MY RESPONSIBILITY!!! They even refused to put me through to their technical team. I paid £40 for this piece of crap that is user-unfriendly, the original 1GB credit was never used and removed by BT and I've topped up about £50 on the thing and had a couple of hours normal web surfing without any downloads out of it. Their customer service has been atrocious - they offered to replace the 1GB that was used in 20 minutes as a one-off and to make sure I didn't do it again, or at least checked on my usage! I hung up after getting the address to complain to (BT CORRESPONDENCE CENTRE, DURHAM, DH98 1BT). The worst abuse of customer rights I've ever had from a supposedly stable business. If you go with them after reading this, do it at your own peril!

I have a BT dongle for work as I'm mobile quite a lot and it's absolute rubbish!! connection even in a good area is literally non-exisitant, so slow to the point I cannot access parts of my own company website and when it does eventually work I could be doing a piece of work and it then disconnects me!! I've had to complain to my IT department for all the good that they can do - I'm assuming they got a cheap deal and were royally shafted!!. The whole purpose of having this was because I'm working at many different sites and supposedly make my life easier but it truly sucks because it doesn't I've never sworn so much since having it and I would never recommend this at all
