Laptop Mag reviews the Toshiba Satellite T115 ULV ultraportable

Laptop Mag has snagged a review of the Toshiba Satellite T115 ultraportable that we first wrote about at the beginning of October. Known as the T110 in the UK (not that it’s available here yet), the 11.6” Satellite T115 is the smaller companion to the 13.3” Satellite T135 — again, subtract 5 for the UK.
The Satellite 115 is powered by an Intel Pentium SU2700 processor and seems to offer the same comfortable balance between size and portability as other similarly sized ULV ultraportables.
Laptop Mag likes the looks, but points out the tendency of the plastic case’s glossy finish to pick up fingerprints. It praises the close-to-full-size keyboard too, but reckons that the case has room for a larger one. The Satellite 115 is also complemented for its high quality screen, but the awful audio from the onboard stereo speakers make it less than useful for watching movies.
Performance from the 1.3GHz single-core processor does seem to be up to much and the review mentions that you can buy much better performance for much less money. We still don’t know a UK price, or course, so it’s difficult to know how the Satellite 110 will compare to the likes of the Samsung X120 in this regard.

Battery life is a bit more impressive though, but Laptop Mag’s seven hour Wi-Fi web surfing test sounds like it places far less stress on a laptop than our preferred BatteryEater Pro Classic test, so take that time with a pinch of salt.
