Vodafone announces iPhone tariffs & 14 January on-sale date

by Julian Prokaza on Monday 21 December 2009 3 Comments

Vodafone becomes the fourth mobile operator in the UK to sell the iPhone on 14 January 2010 and it just announced its tariffs.

Unfortunately, the promise of a price war has failed to materialise and Vodafone's tariffs work out to be more expensive than both O2's and Orange's for both 18-month and 24-month contracts. Vodafone does offer a slightly more generous 3G data use deal at 1Gb a month, though — Orange offers 750Mb, but both O2 and Tesco have no limit.

Extracting the full tariff details from the Vodafone web site is no easy task, so we’ve done all the hard work for you in the table below. We’ve also included costs for the other UK iPhone operators for comparison. Click to see the full size version.

Hi - nice table. I think you have an error in the Vodafone 24m section, looks like you have multiplied the monthly rental by 18 and not 24?

Ah, well-spotted Rishi. Table and story updated accordingly.

Finally, Vodafone iphone deals are now available…

Vodafone offer the best network coverage in the country, meaning that wherever you are, you can get the best out of your super-smart iPhone.

    Plus! Vodafone 360 services.

Great news for anyone looking for a decent deal on the iPhone but didn’t like what O2 or Orange had to offer!
