Dell planning 7” and 10” Android Streak slate devices?

Dell has still to announce pricing and availability for its Mini 5 / Streak, but it now looks like the 5” Android-powered slate computer will be joined by 7” and 10” models.

The information comes from an internal Dell announcement that was leaked to Engadget and it looks like the 7” Streak will launch in the US sometime in the summer (along with the Streak 5”) and the 10” model will appear in early 2011.

A year seems like a long time to wait for a 10” touch-screen computer to compete with the iPad and we suspect Apple’s gadget will be deeply entrenched in the market by then. Still, the allure of an operating system that isn’t tightly controlled may enough to cause some to keep their wallets closed — assuming the price is realistic, of course…
