Opera Mini web browser for mobile phones downloaded 1 million times in ten days

The latest version of the Opera Mini mobile web browser for mobile phones was downloaded more than one million times within the first ten days of its launch on 7 November, says the company. Opera Mini 4 is the newest version of what is claimed to be the world's most popular mobile web browser, with more than 26 million cumulative users browsing more than one billion web pages every month. Opera Mini 4's new features include easy synchronisation of mobile and PC weblinks; landscape mode, BlackBerry menus and a virtual mouse.

Opera dubs its latest browser "The People's Choice."  "The people have spoken: Opera Mini is their mobile browser of choice," says Jon von Tetzchner, Opera's CEO. "The tremendous reception for Opera Mini 4 is proof that consumers want the freedom to choose the same experience, the same Web, regardless of what device they use."
