Windows Mobile now compatible with Office 2007

by Julian Prokaza on Monday 03 December 2007 Comment

Microsoft has updated Windows Mobile to make it compatible with Office 2007 documents, reports ZDNet. Up until now, Windows Mobile has been unable to handle the OpenOffice XML (OOXML) file format introduced in Office 2007. OOXML is Microsoft's answer to the OpenDocument Format (ODF), designed to improve interoperability for electronic documents such as word processors, spreadsheets and presentations. Microsoft's update pack is designed for Windows Mobile 5 and Window Mobile 6 devices and other new features include, improved viewing of Excel documents, the ability to view SmartArt in PowerPoint Mobile, and viewing and extracting files held in ZIP folders.
