Toshiba launches new Portégé M700 tablet PCs
Yes, they are still being made and Toshiba is the latest laptop manufacturer to launch a new range of tablet PCs. The two models in the new Portégé M700 series are Toshiba’s fourth take on the tablet concept and both are based on Intel Centrino vPro technology, with Core 2 Duo T7250 processors (based on the Merom platform, rather than the new 45nm Penryn).
Both the Portégé M700-110 and M700-3G11F have 12.1in (1366 x 768) LED-backlit widescreen displays with an active digitiser, 120Gb hard disk and 2Gb of DDR2 RAM, expandable to 4Gb. 802.11a/b/g/draft-N is also standard, but the M700-3G11F also has integrated HSDPA. Both models weight 2kg and battery life is claimed to be up to 4.5 hours.
The Portégé M700-110 costs £1,173.83inc VAT, the M700-3G11F £1,291.33, and both are available now.
