Windows Mobile 6.1

Portuguese website PocketPT has posted some screens from Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 ahead of the official unveiling at Mobile World Congress 2008. Most notable of the new features are the introduction of a long-awaited threaded SMS application and an improved Pocket Internet Explorer that can now give a zoomed-out overview of web pages.

It’s worth noting that Windows Mobile 6.1 is still based on the same Windows CE 5.2 core as the current version 6.0, so any improvements aren’t much more than cosmetic. For that we’ll have to wait for Windows Mobile 7.0, due in 2009.
