Google Maps for Symbian UIQ now available

Google Maps Symbian UIQWindows Mobile, Palm OS and the Apple iPhone have been able to use it for ages, but now Google Maps is finally available as a native application for Symbian UIQ 3 smartphones (most Sony Ericsson models, plus a few others).

The new SIS application replaces the old Java app and includes the faux-GPS “My Location” feature that uses nearby mobile phone masts to pinpoint your position (often with remarkable accuracy). You can install Google Maps for UIQ 3 by going to http://www.google.com/gmm in your handheld’s web browser.
